    Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

I just checked a few sport exhaust systems for the Cayenne Turbo lately and the Gemballa seems to be the cheapest.
Does anybody have a Gemballa sport exhaust (black version, not the one which looks like the OEM exhaust) on the Cayenne S or Turbo? Are you satisfied?

Most Tuners ask around 3000 Euros for their exhaust systems and this is too much for a SUV. Cargraphic even put their lettering on the heat protection plate...awful looks.

Does anybody have a sport exhaust from a different manufacturer? If yes, how is the sound and are there problems? Please only reports from owners who did not modify the cats or who installed bypass pipes, etc.
    Only mufflers! Thanks!

    Re: Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

RC: which package are you getting?

    Gemballa

try the 700hp package, I can't imagine... 700hp SUV LOL

    Re: Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

Be careful with Gemballa, their service is awful, heard alot of bad stories about them, but their products seem to be fine tough.
    Good luck.

I was just asking a simple question about their black exhaust for the Cayenne Turbo, I have no intention to go for more power from Gemballa.
BTW: only their 530 HP kit is street legal in Germany, all other kits (incl. the 700 HP kit) are not street legal over here.

The problem to find a decent Tuner for the Cayenne, even just for a "simple" mod like the exhaust system, is: nobody really has any experience with the Cayenne, especially not the classic Porsche Tuners like RS-Tuning, RUF, Gemballa, Techart, Roock or Manthay. So a VW/Audi Tuner might put a better job together than the typical Porsche Tuner.

The Gemballa exhaust is cheap (1280 Euro plus tax and install) and this is why I want to try it out. It is just the muffler, so there is no risk of damaging something with the engine or creating problems to the motronic mapping.
Gemballa even claims a power gain of 3 HP.

If I don't like it, I remove it. Most other Tuners ask around 3000 Euros for their Cayenne exhaust systems and I really don't want to spend this kind of money to find out two weeks later that I don't like it. I just want to improve sound, not performance.

    Re: Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

Is there any "credible" reason or justification for this substancial difference in cost?

Well, I really don't know. I saw one offer for a clap system exhaust which would somehow justify cost but otherwise, I don't know. One exhaust offers a carbon made heat shield (which is absolutely nonsense but costs a lot) but I don't have details about the others. The most weird exhaust (not too expensive though...around 1800 Euro) is the one made by Cargraphic: they put the CARGRAPHIC lettering on the heat shield with a laser. It looks horrible if you ask me (I wonder if Cargraphic pays Cayenne owners to advertise their brand name ) but I'm sure they sell it too.

    Re: Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

RC: Once you get it, can you take a soundclip of your new exhaust system? I want to buy one but I can only trust German tuners. I really like Techart though its like a bank.

Anyway Roock is not a good choice

    Soundclip?

    Good idea. No problem.

    Re: Soundclip?

The cargraphic heat shield, that has cargraphic written all over it is optional..... Thats the only reason i think im leaning towards cargraphic. I heard a video clip and it sounds just amazing

    RC,

I think that you'll find if you check in a dictionary, that "CLAP" isn't quite spelled like that!

Well, if I listen to the Cayenne soundfile on the Porsche website, my Cayenne Turbo sounds like a race car.
Cargraphic offers different versions for the Cayenne Turbo but only two versions are street legal in Germany. I contacted them regarding the exhaust but apparently only the version WITH the Cargraphic lettering is available in Germany.
The Cargraphic exhaust is also 600 Euro more, another reason I decided to go for the Gemballa. I wasn't willing to spend too much money for my Cayenne Turbo.

    Re: Soundclip?

RC: good choice with Gemballa. I'm sure german tuners > us tuners

let me remind you again, don't forget to post the soundclip with whatever exhaust you are getting.

Note: My x5 exhaust sounds better than my C-S hahaha

I listened to the Cargraphic exhaust on some guys car who just had the exhaust installed. So the video clip i saw had no affiliation with cargraphic. I was impressed.... I wanted to get fabspeed but i changed my mind because a lot of people were complaining about their 2ndry bypass

    Re: Gemballa sport exhaust? Anybody?

My Pepper S got a smack in the rear about six weeks ago. Its been in the shop since. There was extensive damage to the exhust system, so I upgraded to the Gemballa exhust. The parts arrived last week, and have not been installed yet. I will try and get some sound files, with just the gemballa exhust, and also with the gemballa exhust and fabspeed catbypass.
