    Deviated Stitching Order Guide

Since there seems to be considerable interest in deviated stiching, I'm posting the codes to help those that wish to order deviated stitching. I had wanted to have deviated stitching in my car, but Porsche in their infinite marketing wisdom wouldn't allow me to choose a Hellblau (bright blue) although it is available in cars sold in Europe. The only blue color available in the U.S. is midnight, which I feel is to dark for natural grey leather.

The color of threads available and their codes are:

    G1 Guards Red
    X4 Speed Yellow
    B4 Carrera White
    X1 Artic Silver
    A1 Black
    E9 Midnight Blue
    N2 Orange
    E7 Dark Grey
    TG Sand Beige
    DF Stone Grey
    RA Cocoa
    J5 Green

Deviated Leather Stitching option codes are:

    Front/Rear Seats 24891 $940
    Dashboard 24901 $240
    Door Stitching 24902 $160
    Door Handles 24903 $470
Stitching Side Center Console 24904 $160
Rear Side Panel Stitching 24905 $310
All Stitching Excluding Options 09991 $290

If I were to order all of the above options, I was assured that every stitch in the car would be deviated. I do not know if you could mix colors, but I would doubt it. I can't guarantee the above pricing, but check with your sales representative.

    Re: Deviated Stitching Order Guide

Thanks for the codes. I opted for Natural-Grey and want the stitching to match/blend-in. As in no lighter/contrasting stitching. My sales guy had it confirmed through PCNA that the stitching would indeed match and no deviating stitching (in dark-grey) was necessary.

What's you experience with the default stitching for Natural Grey ?

Thanks - still waiting for my 4S Targa..........

"Assured?" Ha! I wouldn't believe it until I saw examples of it. All photographic evidence I have seen so far shows seats, dash doors and etc. in deviated color with the shift boot and e-brake remaining in the normal, stock color.

Had a 997TT w/NGL and default stitching.....as on blk leather, P default stitching for NGL is some medium grey shade which does look deviated...

In contrast, for ex., have an '07 SL65 w/blk leather where default stitching is also blk and truly non-deviated....

Agree....much apparent poor communic/knowledge/bungling btwn/among dealers, PCNA and PAG re: relatively uncommon specs like deviated stitch.....very few (if any) 997s w/deviated stitch in US (most guys blink re: $10K PCCBs, let alone some $3K for a different color thread )....would be suspicious that shifter/handbrake and steering wheel rim would miss the deviated stitch unless all the moving parts perfectly align, where one has all ?5-6 dev stitch option codes and gets a thicker steering wheel and upgraded shifter from Exclusive....

    LOL.

Yeah I remember my 997S sales guy "telling me all about" the spare tire situation which was the first question I asked him.

Little did he know I was absolutely and totally informed about the most of the specifics. Was " fun" to watch, in real time, someone BS about something he knew nothing about. I let him save face somehow; i.e. I didn't totally blow his BS out of the water. Will never forget that! LOL

    Re: Deviated Stitching Order Guide

When it became apparent that I would be unable to get deviated stitching in the color I wanted (Bright Blue) it was the salesperson who suggested I just drop the whole thing. When I said he was going he was going to loose some money on the deal, he said the dealer makes very little money on options, that Porsche takes the lion's share. If true, it seems like there is little incentitive for the salespeople to understand the options much less sell them.
