Hey LL, at times I wish I did live in EU - you guys get cars at a waaaaay cheaper price! An Enzo would be within reach

I don't want to imagine what a Veyron or McLaren F1 would cost in Denmark

Mike can you buy a car in Europe, with the same spec of SA cars, and then travel to SA with your car? You can Save a lot of money. Hope that you understand my question

In Italy an Lp640 cost "only" 260K Euro

Mike, don't worry. The Ferrari is extremely fast and a very nice car. But the LP640 is a beast which I don't think you will regret buying. Besides the Lambo looks faster than the Veyron and 599 put together, when standing still
All jokes aside, who's going to notice the small difference in real life driving conditions?

I attended the LA auto show last week. The 599 in person is a work of art. It was by far the hit of the show, and is one of the most beautiful cars that I have ever laid eyes on. The Lambo looks like a large door stop. Zero asthetics, in my opinion.

I am with you on this, lambo (to me) is just too "back to the future"...it just doesn't have any grace. Also, what's up with those doors that open upward...do they think it is a space shuttle?

The Lambo has been adhering to this shape for thirty years. The doors come with that. What's up with the front engine in the Corvette? Make it mid-engined or else don't even bother .

Hey just expressing personal opinion...to each his own. I just see the Lambo being more at home on a poster than on an actual road.

    So with your mid-engine theory, you don't like most Porsche's, Ferrari's, Aston's, Maserati's, TVR's, and so on?

I do. I also like the Corvette. All I did was mirror your post using a few different words .

You got it all wrong! You don't know Mike.

    Correct it should read:
Mike for that money you can buy three cars in Europe, with the same spec of SA cars. In Italy an Lp640 cost "only" 260K Euro .

This confirms the Z06 faster than the 997TT to 200 and 250kph but the TT faster to 300kph also. What 30hp more or 150lbs less could have done for the TT...

It will need a bit more than 30hp. They had a slow Z06 for this test. Mine has done 0-160mph in 18.3 seconds on street tires with bad traction. It states in the article that the Z06 does 0-125 in 11.9s. My very first night at the quarter mile ever in any car yielded an 11.4@127 in my Z06. Someone has already done 11.01@129 completely stock. These European journalists can't seem to drive a rear wheel drive car without a bunch of electronics(599) to help them out.

Turbo could do with another 40-50 hp (Powerkit) and a bigger fuel tank.

If you exclude the Zo6, which is the acknowledged performance bargain, the Turbo is not doing too bad (also considering the price)

Would be interesting to compare track times, e.g. Nordschleife

Have you forgotten the Ford GT? It is priced about the same as the TT and it spanks it badly at higher speeds.

Ford GT for me is a big

They really could have had something special if they took the time to work out the kinks and maybe develop an engine that isn't complete bollocks.
But instead, the car had to be released to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Ford. The end-result? A mediocre package that is aesthetically so gorgeous yet such a piece of junk...
It could have harkened back to the GT40, but it only shares the namesake and some of its aesthetic verve...

I agree. I drove one recently and it was the biggest dissapointment ever. I thought it was going to be so much better.

Even if that was the case it would only have an impact on 0-100, maybe 0-150kph performance. The high-speed performance should not suffer from inadequate driver capabilities
