Re: Picked up new Turbo(pictures)
My reply to Alex from previous post.
I have driven the Turbo a few times now with demo models but I personally found the big differences were:
1) Much lighter clutch in the TT
2) Acceleration pushes you back in your seat a little more in the TT but not scary amounts
3) Acceleration seems much more stable in the TT as it seems to hunker down in the road before taking off - unlike the C2S which seems to go very light on the front when accelerating.
4) Still a few seconds turbo lag in the TT - instant throttle response in the C2S.
5) Steering heavier in the TT (as 4WD) and as such loses a bit of the feel compared to the C2S.
6) Engine/exhaust sound in the TT scores about a 4/10, whereas a C2S with PSE is a 9/10
Anything else you can add?
After you get a few mile s under your belt in the Turbo, please compare in detail with your prior Carrera S.* Porsche 911 (997) Carrera S Cabriolet * Audi S3 Abt

1) Yes, clutch is lighter and engagement is smoother.
2) 997s would put slam head back against headrest; TT under hard boost will slam body into seat back.
3) Yes.
4) Insignificant turbo lag when driving hard.
5) My steering is lighter than 997s, has softer feel at slow speed and becomes very direct under hard driving.
6) I am satisfied with the engine/exhaust sound. I would like to have muffler bypass for track work.
My Turbo is 100% better than my 997s. The rear end is more planted, the front end does not bounce up and down on rough pavement, there seems to be more head room, the fit and finish is better, the steering is steady at low and high speeds.
The power is amazing, even when not on boost the car pulls strong. I have not been over 5000 rpm and the Turbo is faster to 100 mph than the 997s. You could be lazy with the 997s but the Turbo is so much quicker in every respect when under power you have to raise your attention level. My 997s was amazingly fast to 110 mph; my gut feeling is that the Turbo will be just as amazingly fast to 150 mph.
I had question myself as to why I should trade a perfectly good 6000 mile car that was less than 2 years old in on a $127,500 car. After driving the Turbo with my name on the title, I think that I would've been crazy if I had not traded.
I left my deposit with dealer for a GT2. I think the GT2 would be the only model better than the Turbo.
