Below 3000 RPM's the exhaust exits from the bottom pipes so that if you're stopped and some walks behind the car they don't get cooked. Above 3000 the exhaust shunts to the top pipes which puts the exhaust flow into the aerodynamic hole left by the cockpit and onto the spoiler for less drag and more downforce. The spoiler surface is Titanium and raises at speed. The soot cleans off easily with metal polish.
