The electric parking brake should work even without calipers (has separate brake shoe inside the rear rotors). And of course putting the transmission in park would be a second way to prevent this. Maybe neither of these stopping methods work when the car is moving??? Old manual parking brakes are missed more than I thought...

Does the PDK even have Park setting (with a mechanical transmission lock, like an epicyclic auto box)?
I thought it would just be an electronic "interlock" between the PDK electronic control unit and the rear-wheel parking brake's ECU which would apply the drum brakes whenever the conditions monitored by the PDK ECU called for it. Smiley
I thought until now that this is on of the reasons for introducing electronically controlled parking (wheel) brakes, but now you have me wondering.

Right, but what if the tech was driving or rolling the car to its parking place? Would the parking brake refuse to be set while the car was rolling? Likewise, maybe the tranny cannot be put in Park until stopped, which couldn't be done without the regular brakes...

Someone had to mount tires on a car without brakes, take it off the lift, and drive it like that to the downhill pond facing parking spot. Three strikes and your wet. Just like that. I get that they want to show off the car but it should have never been moved out of the garage until it had brakes.

Exactly, the car was either pushed in neutral or driven there. e-parking brake is not a physical cable brake like before, the electronics will prevent it from engaging while in motion. Transmission however will allow shifting into forward or reverse from neutral while in motion, but not to park.

Someone clearly didn't think stuff through over there Smiley

Now that the insane Cayman GT4 CS achieved such an amazing time around the Ring, Porsche Motorsport has decided to release a "G-Force Control" track pack for the GT3 RS owners who also would like to explore the faster times.

Below in Miami Blue edition. Apply in generous amounts around the side indicators

I now have 2,300 km on the clock of my RS and I love it! I never experienced such a race car feeling on a road legal car.

The only thing that annoys me is the sound - even with the sport exhaust button active - below 3,500 rpm. Does not sound like a supercar IMO yes ...

Is there a way on the 991 GT3 RS to improve the sound at lower revs like on the 997 GT3 RS where you could simply disconnect a switch?

I bought suspension stuff from Gert for my 996 and I remember he sold better mufflers for 993's. Didn't know he had 991 GT3 exhaust stuff - he has great service (items would show up at my door 2 days later from Belgium).

totally agree.

i cannot tell a difference with/out the sport exhaust button below 4K revs. but i do not mind because in this way the car remains bearable when doing highway cruising at 130-140km/h. hmmmm, i have only done 90min on the highway so far, not sure how it goes on longer stretches.

other than that, the car makes me feel very good, even at the present break-in max of 6500 revs. can't wait for 8+ K revs:::)))

Hm,

generally looking good. However, I keep wondering if carrying over the theme of the previous-generation model is not a bit... uninspired. You could slightly change the shape, size or colors on your car though.

It might be a preliminary sketch but looking at the pictures some elements are not coherent. For example, in top view the stripe on the hood/bonnet looks wider than on the roof. In rendered view, the stripe on the rear lid looks much thinner than on the roof though.

How about two parallel strips as on the 991 R street- and race cars:

it is the GT3RS 4.0 design, except that i took out the red borders of the steps and replaced them by dark silver ones. also i took out the 4.0 script in the side stripe
