Porker:Cool pictures! But how on earth do you manage to attend an event like that, with work, kids, stocks, typing stories on RT, ... ?
Good question...I am curious too.

Thursday...work. Evening kids. Night wife. Sleep.
Friday...work. Evening/night kids & wife. Sleep.
Saturday...sleep. Then kids & wife daytime and evening/night. Sleep.
Leaving kids with wife? My wife has almost every weekend a tennis match (she is in a local club and is their best female player, so they cannot do without her). When she doesn't have a tennis match, she has emergency service (which brings in extra cash, so she does as many as possible...a woman needs shoes...tons of them ).
I miss the time when I could just sneak away from home to visit a track or Porsche or join whatever driving gang to have some driving fun and/or meet new people. These times are over, work comes first, no time for other stuff, other than during vacations (with kids & wife). I envy you.

All a matter of priorities. Your kids are old enough to be on their own .... for some time . I am now away with my wife for two nights. We asked the 20 year old daughter of a friend to stay at our home from 6 PM to 8 AM.
What if you would be , as many , working for a big company where they just keep sending people all over the world for a few days , if not a week ?
As to you business , only you know what is possible to do. With mine , I made sure it can run without me .

You are lucky. In my business, things aren't easy anymore. I need to work because I haven't many employees anymore . I could expand, start something new and then the business would run without me but this would be a huge risk considering the regulations it depends on and the possible changes and of course the necessary investments. At my age, I just prefer to spend more time with my family (we have strong ties).
Maybe I should change my job and profession.

Not many Independent pharmacys left in my region. The one in my small town still is , run by the owner and 2 ladys, but all others have joined big groups. Times are indeed changing. It used to be a gold mine .
Actually the same is happening in my type of business. If one does not integrete a large group , you have not many chances left on the longer run.

Yep, the same here. Looking to buy a bigger one (not interested in opening a new one, too risky) but not easy, the "good" ones are sold "under the table" and I need one in my region, not 200 km away. Chains are not legal here but there are "groups". To join these groups, you need to have a certain revenue level, which is often pretty high.
Long story short: I am also thinking about doing something else but not sure what to do exactly.
