    New Fabspeed Chrome Tips

    I got a set of the new Fabspeed Chrome tips. This is how they should have looked to begin with.

    Took about half an hour to install

    Those new tips look absolutely fantastic! They suit the car so much.

    They look awesome! The question I have is why the quad tips are $595 for the 997S & $750 for the TT?

    those look really good...sounds like you installed them yourself...did you need any special tools ....was it necessary to jack the car up or use a lift..

    They are very easy to install. One 14mm bolt holds on the old ones. You just need a Socket wrench with an extender to get under the car. You dont need to remove the bumper or jack the car up. The right one came off very easy, the Left one took some doing to get loose. I guess maybe hot and cold over and over again made it a little difficult to come off. I put a little lubricant in there to get it loose. Then you just bolt on the new ones with the 12mm Bolt provided.

    Beautiful car. Prefer the round tips, just not in the trapezoid cut outs. They don't flow with lines of the car.

    After seeing your car, I ordered the tips too. Joe F. had them to me essentially the next day and it took me 15 minutes and a little WD40 to get the old ones off and the new ones on. I can't think of an easier (albeit, not cheap) improvement to the car's looks. I cannot imagine why these were not provided as standard on the 997tt instead of those oval disasters.

    Rich, really looks great...can you post a close up photo of the tips from directly behind the car (at the same elevation as the tips) to show how the round tips fit in the factory opening? Can you see any of the heatshield material through leftover unfilled space? Thanks.

    I am in D.C. today speaking at a conference but i can do it tommorow. No you cant see any heatsheild material.

    Atlas, Last car was black. Thought I would try Atlas. I will try to clean it and take a nicer shot of it.

    Yeah, it seems a bit steep. I have them but got a laugh the other day. I was on the Ferrari forum over at 6speed and noticed a thread started by fabspeed announcing tips for the 360. 2K!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can they be so different than the 997TT tips that warrant them being double in price?

    I guess ZO6 tips would be what, $500? I guess the cost of the car they're going on determines the price? LOL

    And there is a 2 year waiting list for the F tips, unless you've bought the previous model from Fabspeed..

    FUnny this is a almost year old thread that i posted. The tips over time are pretty black on the inside. Not all shiny like when they were new. I should post an updated picture.
