    I believe that's the 'normal' exhaust. Le Mans don't have sound limit.

    No. They have a new exhaust that is louder (centrally placed) but the reason given by Porsche is to increase reliability.

    Time to throw out the tiny V4 and develop a new V6. Toyota has shown that you don't need a teeny tiny V4 to comply with the fuel regulations.

    Well, things don't look too promising for the 919 either. 

    Rumors that this will be the last year of the Porsche Prototype  program...

    Interesting thing I heard out of Weissach, seems like the mid engine RSR have too much downforce..........

    Car is well suited for slower track.

    In the second qualifying segment, the RSR were on pace, the top car was only 0.3 sec behind provisional pole on a 13 km high speed track.

    The 919, by contrast, was over 2.5 sec behind the top Toyota which set a new lap record...

    Toyota did about  3:20s under green, Porsche did about 3:21s. There is traffic, Aero setup and weight to be considered as well, but it looks certian that Toyota has a pace advantage over a regular stint.

    Plus the Toyotas kept off almost every single curb, even on the pole lap!

    Not completely true. If you look at the data last year, you will find that Porsche (both) had a quicker average lap time than Toyotas.


    This year is a different story.

    Live at Le Mans, boy do those new mufflers sounded awesome!!! Best sounding car on track. Even in a pack the sound towers above everything else. FSW was quite proud of the new mufflers also.
