Top 10 Carrera options?
This comes up all the time on this board so I thought I'd list out my top 10 options I have on my car (C2S Cab).
Note that according to local Porsche Sales guys the only options which really add resale value are PCM Nav and Bose, so if you get any of the others don't expect them to hold their value very much come resale.
My top 10 options in order:
1) Sports exhaust system - I retrofitted later, a must have! Ultimate is a hacked PSE with the cab top down going through a tunnel in first gear. Such music!!
2) Navigation module for PCM - love that traffic re-routing
3) Tyre Pressure Monitoring system - already saved my butt once after a major puncture!
4) Sport Chrono Package Plus - although the clock is not pretty
5) Adaptive Sports Seats - very comfy
6) Sport Shifter - I retrofitted later but makes the car feel sportier for some reason
7) Heated Seats - needed for a Cab
8) Multi functional steering wheel - personally don't like the look of the standard one, although this is quite a 'thin' wheel
9) ParkAssist -very useful as the Carrera has quite a 'robust' derriere!
10) Rear section of centre console in exterior colour - looks great in basalt anyway
Options I have but could live without:
6 CD multi-changer - your main PCM can play MP3 CDs with up to 120 songs on each making the 6 CD changer just added car weight!
Cruise Control - although when the motorways are quiet using this does give good MPG
Telephone module - I tend to use my 'free' work blackberry phone instead, plus with the car phone you have to shout a bit so people can hear you.
Options I wish I had:
Powerkit (X51)
Sports Suspension (can't get for a Cab though)
