    997TTS Waiting List

    I stopped by to chat with my dealer yesterday and asked about the waiting list for the upcoming (hopefully) Turbo S. As it turns out, they did not have a list but started one at my request. I am number 1 on the list! Now, I just hope Porsche adds the TTS to the line up.

    In Germany, there is no separate list for the 997TTS. Same allocation as for standard 997TT...

    How could a dealer share expectations of pricing if the Turbo S isn't even announced yet?

    A few hints regarding a possible Turbo S:
    1. the 997 GT2 comes first
    2. the 997 Turbo powerkit comes first
    3. the "S" versions of the Turbo came usually at the end of the lifecycle of the Turbo

    Meaning: don't expect a Turbo S before MY 2010. Earliest.
    Unless 997 Turbo sales slow down substantially...something I really doubt right now.

    I Agree. You might as well wait for a 998 TT.

    All, The dealer had no pricing or shared no expectations of the TTS. He had no idea if, or when, it would ever be announced. He did not even have a waiting list but started one at my request. I already have a TT on order with a March production schedule so I really don't care if it takes a couple of years for the S to arrive. If or when it does, I'm good to go.

    I have a similar situation here: We have separate "waiting" lists for the TT and TTS (and GT2 and TCab's). And of course, these lists are not the Ten Commandments, with everything "written in stone." As is the case in any business: Money talks. So we see dealers advertising 997TT's available now at mark-up prices, even though those dealers have their own waiting lists. This may indeed vary by region and country and every dealer may use their lists differently, depending on the specific dealer-and specific customer-some "good" customers (repeat buyers with money-to-burn) could be treated preferentially-at least here in the USA, and surely elsewhere.
