Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

Very nice indeed. Thank you very much

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

Love it ...lets hope it is the real thing.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

I like the way it looks. Especially the exhaust that come out from the rear grill area.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

I remain skeptical. There is absolutely no reason for Ferrari to spend resources in building this car. It cannot keep up with building the 599 and 430.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

Looks great. I wonder what the specs will be?

Because they can charge more for it...

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

    ciao Flevio capra!

f430 CS is stunning, will have 515hp and 100kg lighter than f430

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

520 HP it will be really really fast in MO! The 490HP is already a very fast car so the new one it looks like very fast....

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

...I suspect this is the real deal, considering the doors come straight off a 360CS.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

From a Porsche fan I have to say that if this is true, it will walk all over it's 911 competitors. Maybe it wont be just as good as a GT3/RS as far as steering feel and handling is concerned (maybe, maybe it will be even better), but the advantage it will have in acceleration will more than make up for it if lap times are concerned.

GT3's are actually the 'standard' F430 competitors now actually....and just to think that previously, the 996 GT3/RS would wipe the floor with the standard 360. Many even thought that the 360 Stradale was not as good as a 996 GT3RS.

    Tables have turned, big time

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

Told you guys it was coming and it's going to be a monster. There's still the racing seat issue though. Looks like the steering wheel might be the CF optional one.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

I agree that the CS does look like David vs Goliath when compared to the GT3RS, upon first look.

But the 360CS was a complete let down, compared to the GT3RS and compared to what most Ferrari fans want to lead you to believe.

I guess we can only hope that the 430CS will be the "all form/noise" and no function the 360CS was.

That's the first time I've ever heard anyone refer to the CS as a complete let-down. Are you relaying your own opinion of the CS after driving/owning one or just what you've heard from someone else?

The CS is a great car. Had one for 2 years and loved it. If given the opportunity to choose between Porsche GT3RS or Ferrari CS no question which car I'm driving away in. Just so you know I'm not biased or a die hard fan one way or the other I love em both (Porsche & Ferrari)

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

I hope they do the front diferently, it is NOT so perfect that they cant improve its aerodynamics and ad to the CSs exclusivity

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

The 360CS is a great car, yes. Yes the seats are great and the sound is fantastic and it looks great and the whole Ferrari experience is overwhelming for the driver when compared to a GT3 or the GT3RS, BUT for the extra money over over a MkIIGT3 and a MKIIGT3RS - let alone the premium over a regular 360 one would have expected better performance out of it.

Sport Auto Magazine tested the 360CS at the track at 7:56, where as they achieved a 7:54 for the GT3, and a 7:47 for the GT3RS and Walter Rohrl achieved a 7:43 himself on the GT3RS.

Top Gear also on their little airstrip track achieved equal times for both the 360CS and GT3RS.

Outside of the fact that the CS gives you that Ferrari experience that you all love - there's no denying that - but the CS did not prove its premium on a purely performance level (which on its own is odd considering Ferrari dominates the F1 track) AND performed "only as well" - no better -than the GT3RS and GT3 - a vehicle that has 40HP les than it.

I've owned my 04GT3 since August 03, and my friend has a 360CS - and in my experience at the track the CS neither shows that it is the lighter car nor the more powerful car of the 2. Has anyone?

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

The 430 CS is rumored to be presented at the Geneva Motorshow.

Why couldn't they use the seats from the 599?

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

    220 lbs lighter sounds delicious

    Should be a treat

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

If you really look at what you get for the premium of the CS vs the Modena it's a bargain. $10k (option in the 430) CF engine compartment. $17k CCM brakes. $5k CF seats. $5k CF center consule & sills. CF doors (if they were available prob $10-$15k). $2k Challenge wheels & tit. bolts. Tit. Springs, Mod front bumper, rear bumper, rocker panels, challenge grill, cf mirrors, Exhaust, Engine tweaks, Tires. $10k F1 trans w/ launch control. etc.ec. Over $70k in options/mods not counting the engine teaks, body panels, titanium springs, tires, etc, etc. PLUS (and this is a big plus) the fact it was a limited production one year only car which held it's value much better than the Modena (I made money after owning the CS 2 years) so "the premium over a regular 360" was really the best deal in town. And if you want to judge the CS at msrp based on it's value vs. a Porsche GT3, well obviously you lose about 30% or more w/ the Porsche and get your money back, even making money by owning the Ferrari "so for the extra money over over a MkIIGT3"...... it's a no brainer.

In terms of performance we could sit here all day going back and forth obviously both cars are very competitive but like I said before if presented keys to a brand new GT3 and a Challenge Stradale and told to pick one there's no doubt which car I'd pick and I love Porsche's/drive one everyday. But I get it you're a Porsche guy.

That's what I was thinking too. But who knows if they'd even be the right proportions for the car. How wide/how tall are they? How high is the seating surface/could you wear a helmet? Guess we'll see.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

Perhaps you should be comparing the 997 GT2 to the 430CS, not the GT3. The GT2 is closer in price and will be more than a match for the 430cs in performance. Should be interesting.

Re: 430 CS - new spy pics

I think the new GT2 will meet the expectations of many people. Not only do I think it will match the 430CS in terms of performance, I think it will create quite a gap to the Ferrari. The question is whether it is going to be a handful to drive just like the 996 GT2 (Mk1).
