    New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Sorry, didn't have my usual camera with me, so the quality of the shots isn't too good.

    Wow! Thanks!

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Sweet. The perfect blend of Cab and Hard Top.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

    Wow that looks incredible!.
    Thanks for the images RC.
I think black is the best colour to go with for this model.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

WOW! No need to make an apology for camera quality - Your pictures are GREAT! Thanks for posting.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Looks much better than I anticipated.

This will be the best selling Targa ever.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

enjoy the sky! Great pictures RC!

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

    Congratulation Beautiful car
How did you do that? Worldwide presentation at dealers is on the 4. November. The dealer told me that my midnight blue targa 4s is already in Switzerland, but no car can be driven on public roads before that date. They agreed to deliver the car on friday 3. November to make the public registration, but I am not allowed to drive it before saturday 4.. The bastards...I am so jealous
Your car in black is a pure beauty. I wish you much fun.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Thank you RC, the Targa looks really nice in black. Stick some Turbo wheels on it and it would the da bomb

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Rc, do not posting those lovely pics again pls

it makes my wife crazy..... she loves the targa so much..... so do i

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

RC, wow! Thanks for posting those pictures, quality notwithstanding which looks fine.

Just one question, how is the rear hatch opened? Via remote key or is there an external button somewhere on the car that will open it. I'm guessing that there's also one on the inside of the car too.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

I am loving it...Hot, Hot, Hot!!

But, I see that window stripe, its a love/hate war in my head if that looks good or not. I know you can get it painted black to blend in, but for style, hmmmm, like it, but hate the stripe too.......

Long live Porsche Targa, like in 4 ever and ever land

Wider hips and the look above your head with the sunroof is just totally awesome. This car ROCKS

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

First of all, thank you RC for those sneak pictures. You rendered pretty well what makes the Targa great.

On the 996, the hatch opened either with a button inside, or with the remote. There was not ad hoc button on the hatch. I assume it'll be the same on the 997.

IMHO the alu stripe forces customers to get a dark color (although the Nordic Gold intro color works well, too). I intended to get a Cobalt car, but made my mind on Midnight after seeing the Midnight Targa 4S at the Paris Auto Show.

Midnight, Black, Basalt or Atlas, maybe Olive would work very well with it. Silver or white, not so much.

Also, the alu stripe forced me to drop my plans to get a Carbon sill. The stainless steel sill is a must in this car.

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

    Great photos RC. Thanks

It's a gorgeous car - and I second what has already been said - this Targa will be a hit.

From a practical perspective, now that the a*s of the 4WD models has grown to Beyonce-like proportions, how easy is it to lift stuff into the back using the hatch? My doctor tells me not to lift heavy objects while leaning forward...If one were comparing it to a proper hatchback (eg VW Golf) or an estate (stationwagon), the first comment one might make is: gosh, that's a high sill to lift stuff over (like a 15-20kg suitcase etc etc)...

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

    Lookin good, congrats!

I hope so, because I do want a 998 Targa in 6 years. If the 997 does not sell, I'm not sure they'd continue to build it.

In this case, don't do it. But if you ask me, the hard part is getting stuff out, not in.

It's better to put the heavy stuff in the front trunk anyway. Everyone knows 911 need a few sandbags in the front!
(that, and it's dangerous to have stuff flying freely in the back)

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

    I thinck the targa's always been goodlooking cars. The chrom or alustrip on the roofline makes it different from the other elfers and gives it a more distinct and stronger look;

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

Beautiful...wide hips and glass roof is unique... WOW...

I don't know if it would be any harder than lifting that heavy suitcase through the side doors and past the front seats. With a Cab, on the other hand, as long as it's not raining, just put down the top and loading is easy!

Re: New 997 Targa 4S Pictures

...now if they can shave those wider hips off it and toss out that front differential...
