I replaced the Pirelli's at 20k with Bridgestones. Now I don't have to shout to converse with the person next to me.
20k miles?
I guess the car would get pretty loud when it starts running on the wheel rims.

Never heard of 6k. Are you driving on broken stone? I have clients who have averaged 10k-12k, but that includes track days, which I don't do. Mine is my daily commuter. About 12 miles each way, all highway. Weekends are winding mountain roads(weather permitting), but again, paved, no stone or broken concrete. Tire pressure is check every weekend.
I know of Ferrari's and Acura NSX's to get 7k to 9k, but of the dozen or so Porsche owners I know personally, who use their cars as I do, 15k to 18k or so is not out of the ordinary.

6k on normal paved roads plus about 4 full track days.
The only ' problem' was that the inner part of the tyre wore off much faster then the 90% rest of the tyre.
I guess I could of done 2 or 3 K more if the allignment would of been perfect. This happened a day where I drove about 600 miles in one day, most on German higways at high speed.
Otherwise I admitt pulling hard most of the time on my first 2 gear..a lot and often...not good for tyre wear
