    Yes...occasional if even. This time I was wearing my special glasses that filter out all yellow objects...especially double-yellow lines!

    Wow. I'm pretty surprised that you guys are so in favor of this kind of stuff. I used to ride motorcycles and we were always trying the battle the negative image that the few would place on the majority. Sports car drivers deal with a similar image problem, though probably not to the same degree. This kind of riding/driving on public roads was always considered dangerous (mostly to others) and juvenile and never condoned on what I considered "enthusiasts" forums.

    Sorry if I sound like a buzz kill, but there's a place for that kind of driving. It's called a track.

    blah blah blah. I wasn't in a neighborhood or even on a city street. This is a known 11 mile route where everyone expects this kind of driving.

    Sounds like a great place for a 997cab. If you guys plan a meeting I would love to drive up and experience some of those nice roads. Maybe a few others from Florida would like to go.

    Thats a great road, some lovely bends there to get ya teeth into. Silly question perhaps. Do double yellow lines mean "no overtaking ?" like double white's in the UK mean?

    Well it's pretty flat over here in Miami. I would have to stay in the back of the pack. The mountains elevation would probably scare the sh** out of me.

    Not getting much sleep after that Euro. Delivery??

    The road is hard to beat...only wish they'd close it for $100.00 runs once a month or so. Did I mention how good the cheeseburger was at the hole-in-the-wall restaurant there?

    Don...I think you could plan this much better than I could. What's the best town to stay the night for those coming the day before? What's good to eat that night? You know other roads where scenery is better, etc. Can't we go up through Townsend then thru Cades Cove and hit the Blue Ridge Pkwy.? Or...make a loop with Tail of the Dragon/Cherohala Skyway? Or both?

    This could be really fun!

    GA997S, I'm sorry but I don't have the energy to plan this outing. Anybody care to volunteer? By the way, it snowed up on the mountains along the TN/NC border today. The gathering may be too late for this year.

    I would love to but am new to the country and have little or no experience of the area. Maybe if GA997S would like to take over the reins? I'm sure Dasien it would help if you could maybe let us have your thoughtson places to stay etc.

    Think it's too late to plan something? I think that if we can handle a short notice or tentatively plan for the Saturday after Thanksgiving (or the following) knowing we may cancel then we have a chance. There's always a few good weekends (50+*F) in the fall.

    Yall's thoughts?

    If you guys would like we might consider some Florida cruses. I am willing to drive up to Northern Florida. Maybe we can ask 69bossnine for his participation, he knows North and central Florida better than I do. If not thats cool maybe we could plan something next year with more notice???
