    Porsche marketing would never allow it , but imagine a lightweight Boxster R coupe with the GT3 motor mid ship and GT3 type adj. suspension , big brakes and some weight loss bits giving a below 3000 lb weight .
    That would be a dream dual purpose ( around town/track-autocross) model .
    Something like that could entice me from a Turbo !
    Your rendering is beautiful , probably BETTER than the real car will look , if the disjointed front end of the new 997 is any indicator .

    I can only agree, VERY talented.
    Not quite the Boxster Coupe but close.
    If you expect a little Carrera GT, I have to disappoint you. There are certain elements but it does look completely different. Nice try though.

    Expect the 997 to have bigger rear lights ( like on this Boxster ) than the current 996 . The prototypes have taped off " small " lights that I can't imagine any half -awake designer would pair with the new cars wider rear fenders .OTOH, looking at the front of the 997 and the front of the Cayenne , I'm not so sure .

    Farina very good drawing.

    I agree Porsche would never allow a Boxster coupe GT3 engine car. The 911 still needs to be the top dog. Glad to see Porsche giving the 911 more HP. Now a Boxster coupe with 300+HP is possible. Porsche should build a Flat 8 engine. They could drop it in the 911 and extend life into the 911. Plus the GT3RSR will need more power in the future to compete in racing. What I'd really love to see is Porsche build a modern 904 GTS! They could use the new flat 8 for it and it could make a great GTS class race car. There is tremendous history with the 904. It could be priced a bit above the GT2 and compete very well with the Italians. Farina why don't you pen a new 904 for Porsche to look at.

    Since Porsche marketing has no qualms currently turning a "paint and badges" Boxster S into a 550 Spyder wannabe including clothing , key chains, etc., expect a similarly marketed " 904 tribute " badge -engineered Boxster coupe when IT'S sales start to falter in a few years . ( Wouldn't it be nice if engineers ran the sales side for a few years ?)
