I totally agree. However, a very reputable German distributor for Porsche parts (http://www.fvd.de) claims that the "Carbon-Airbox" brings up to 25 hps. Many German Porsche enthusiasts know FVD and I don't understand why they put up that quote when they know that it's BS.
Does anyone have it installed? How are the subjective impressions about the power increase?
FVD has a performance kit for 996 that claims 25Hp more, but that is whit ECU, new headers , sport exhaust , sport intake and 4000 euros bill, plus installation and VAT, we're talking about 6000Euros upgrade for 25 HP ""claimed" gain.
So there's must be some bug regarding your information about this carbon intake.
Their website has an on-line catalog that shows this power gains with ECU+Headers*intake+exhaust.
I've heard a very good mod made by FVD is their set of sport cams. Two guys in the States made it, and felt a big difference in power after 4500rpm, they both told me it was an amzing improvement, and they didn't know each other, so this might be a good way to bump the power together with th ECU and headers.
