OK, here is more (rumors from one source only):

    - 700 hp power is not final, could be slightly less or slightly more (not likely though). Latest number was 670 hp. yes

    - Top speed 340 kph

    - Weight 1495 kg (not sure if this is DIN or whatever)

    - 0 to 100 kph in 2.9 seconds (warm tires)

    - engine apparently a highly modified 911 Turbo engine, incl. VTG(!) chargers

    - RWS standard

    - car will be limited production but final number hasn't been decided yet (apparently it will happen based on pre-orders) and apparently car is not already sold out, simply because the final number of how many cars will be produced hasn't been decided upon yet

    - Price tag not under 250k EUR for the base model

    - no manual (that was pretty much clear)

    - very fuel efficient, not much higher fuel consumption than current Turbo S

    - exhaust sound nice at idle/start, not so nice at lower rpm (according to someone who heard the car), nice scream at higher rpm but overall a bit disappointing (similar to 991 Turbo S but with a slightly higher pitch in screaming, thus maybe sounding a tiny bit louder). There also seems to be a pop-off/whining sound from the turbos (but this could be gone in the final product...hopefully not according to source).

Nope, sorry. No info on the Weissach package but apparently some (minor!) weight reductions like magnesium rims, titanium roll cage, carbon anti-roll bars and some optical highlights in carbon or whatever.

The Weissach package safes some weight: Mg rims (-12kg), Mg roll cage (-4kg), misc (-4kg) and also includes a front hood in (unpainted) carbon. In summary, the car weighs 20kg less (i.e. 1.3% of total weight...) but is much less suitable for daily use: stone chips on the high-priced carbon hood... A potential damage to the Mg rims... You know what I mean Smiley

Not ordering the Weissach package seems the much better choice to me...

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Thread Closed

Just a spare set of Mg wheels for the track would be a good option, the other parts of the package don't make too much sense to me tbh.

    More rumors:

    - only 300 cars available for the German market, German dealers already take in orders (some at least...) but car isn't in the German (ordering) system yet. It may take up to another 14 days until customers get final allocation by Porsche. Some dealers also consider the lottery allocation option for certain customers only since it isn't clear how many cars will be available for each Porsche center.

    - water injection reservoir for intercoolers needs a refill every three Nordschleife rounds (slightly over 60 km).

    - official appearance in Goodwood confirmed

The limited production is a disappointment but maybe Porsche decides otherwise...similar to the 991.1 GT3 RS.

I wish...but maybe Porsche (positively) surprises us. Smiley

    Still lost my 911 itch...right now I would rather want a 991.2 GT3 or 991.2 GT3 RS than the GT2 RS. Smiley

Actually, it would be the Huracan Performante or the next Aventador SV. The McLaren 720S may be performance king (straight line) but in the emotional department... Smiley

RC, is it confirmed that it is a water spray (externally over the face of the cores) system ? one magazine report said it was an internal water injection (ie into the combustion chamber ?

It's not a terrible interval, I agree.  Would be nice if the water lasted as long as the fuel (in the Extended Tank)...

Such a water refilling requirement after so few laps would be a joke from Porsche.

Competitors' cars in this engine output league don't have this hassle (e.g. 488 GTB, 720S, Performante),

My understanding is that this water cooling is only used under extreme circumstances, i.e. normally it is not used at all. What would happen to competitor's engines without water cooling in such extreme conditions cannot be known. I would speculate these other engines might lose more power than the GT2RS under extreme conditions.

I often do more than 3 laps.

But that might not be the issue: The less things you need to think about when driving the better it is.
