    New member waiting for Targa 4S

    Hello Porsche-enthousiasts.
    For a few weeks, I browsed through your forum, found it very ineresting and enjoyed it. Living in the french part of Switzerland, my mother language is french and I speak german, swiss german and englisch (some, I will try to improve on this forum). A few years ago, I raced Porsche-cup Switzerland with a RS92 and Ferrari challenge Europe with a F355. On the 4. November 2006, I will collect one of the first Targa 4S to be delivered. Living in the north part of Switzerland (mountains, much snow in winter and many sunny days in summer), this car seems to be the best daily driver on the market.
    I would enjoy some pics of a C4S with the specs of my soon to be coming Targa 4S:

    Congrats and let's see some pics when you get it. BTW, the Targa 4S seems ideal for the climate you describe..

    Excellent! Sounds like a great combination! I LOVE the Targa and would get one if it was a bit cheaper : )

    Your market is precisely what Porsche was aiming for when they came up with the Targa and the 4-wheel drives. I hope it arrives on schedule and that you are happy with the options! Sounds great!

    Unfortunately I didn't place an order on a Targa so far. I think I'm going to stick to my 996 .... because the 997 Targa is really much more expensive and my wife and my kids are starting to complain about the overall practicality of the 911 ...

    They are pushing me to sell the 996, buy a pre-owned Cayenne AND a classic like a 2.4l S Targa (MY 1973) for fun and weekends ... So far I haven't made-up my mind ...

    Oh your killing me...Love what you ordered. Congrats!!
    I want to see a pic of your Targa 4S in Midnight Blue please when it arrives..Specs look nice. I love the look of the hippier Pcar with the wide rear !! I am a big Targa fan and deciding which next Porsche car # 3 that I like . A WHITE Targa 4 S is in the running. Oh, your gonna love this car. Can you tell I am excited for you ..Please post pics, they are suppose to arrive in USA showrooms mid November!!!

    Hello Porsche-enthousiasts
    Thank you all for your nice posts and welcoming.
    Of course, I will post pics of the new targa 4S, but i do not know yet how to insert them in the post with a mac.
    The waiting would be less boring if I could look at nice pics of a C2 or C4 in midnight blue with 19" Sport Design Wheels. Do you know somebody who could post them?

    Hello Carlos, and welcome to the board. First of all, congratulations on your choice. The Targa 4S seems very appropriate to the Swiss climate.

    I'm a Targa lover too, but will probably take delivery around April. I originally intended to go for Cobalt/Black/Grey, but was unsure about how the chrome strip would look. Then I went to the Paris Auto Show, and I knew I HAD to order a Midnight Blue one.

    It looks like we're getting twin sisters, since Black/Sand is also my choice.

    As for your other options:
    19" Sport Design Wheels - Nice wheels, but I hope you like cleaning them. I'm probably getting Classics, with colored crests.
    Park Assist System
    Rear Window Wiper
    Self Dimming Mirrors
    Sport Chrono Package Plus
    Heated Seats
    Three-Spoke Multi-function Steering Wheel
    Navigation Module for PCM
    Module for Telephone PCM with headset
    Bose

    I'd definitely add, since they are are missing from the "full" leather package:
    Rear center console in leather (this part is actually between the front seats, not the rear seats)
    Storage compartment lid in leather with Porsche crest or Targa 4S logo (just for continuity: the standard lid is in leather, but lacks the double stitching which the rest of the rear center console has)
    Sun visors in leather
    Door finishers in leather

    Also:
    Tire Pressure Monitoring System (if not standard)
    Illuminated Stainless Steels Sills with Targa 4S logo
    Porsche Sport Exhaust (a definite must)
    Thicker Multifunction Steering Wheel (a bit on the expensive side )
    Adaptative Sport Seats with back in leather
    Cruise control (I'd like to keep my license )

    I think that's about it. You'll see pretty fast that reading this board is very dangerous to our wallets, as we can't help but add options...

    To Vincenzina and bstew : I like white porsches. My fist race car was a white Porsche RS92, but I think the front window of the targa is too agressive in white.
    To LB : I live 1 mile away from the Palafitte...
    To The Groom : most of the options you mention are in my spec, but I did not want to bore the boardmembers with details, especially the litte leather options... . I did not order PSE and I think that it was a big mistake after reading some threads of this forum

    You're welcome. I'm sure you will love it - even without PSE at first.

    The PSE can be retrofitted, but it's ends up pretty expensive, as you have to pay for the labor. However, I'm pretty sure everyone on this board who did the retrofit will confirm it was worth every penny.

    Oh yes not only pictures, but I really wish to know how firm is this car compared to a regular C4S (if you have driven both)? I am so very happy Posche is building this car again.
