    Cayman questions

    Hi All,

    Planning to get a cayman and need some info :

    (1) I understand that the sports package on a Cayman comes with PASM and a 6 speed manual box. Can someone advise if this 6 speed manual box is the same ratio as the Cayman S.

    (2) How does the sports chrono option help on a manual box other than doing lap timing? Does the sports mode actually makes any difference to a manual box?

    Yes, the ratios will be the same.

    Sport mode will affect the actuation profile of the drive-by-wire throttle. Ie, it takes less a prod with your foot to get the same effect, making it seem more responsive.

    Yes, you would have better acceleration with a closer ratio box, but you would likely sacrifice fuel economy and top speed (assuming the closer ratios were closer to the low gears and not closer to the high gears)...
