    What would the 997 look like front engined

    I've always wondered what a 997 would look like if they put the engine in the front - how would the design change to accomodate the new layout?

    Now I'm no expert but i had a muck about in Photoshop.

    What do you think?

    yea, looks weird. like a Z4 meets crossfire with too much bonnet and no ass.

    Although saying that, the reduced rear overhang looks quite good when you A/B

    Those pics are kinda wild.
    I dont ever want to see the engine in the front.
    The sound would change soo much. I know other Porsches are front engines...944, 928, but please god dont do it to the 997 ever. I liked your imagination in photoshop!! You squished the back end...a little, like a bubble!!

    Me neither! The only car for me when I sell the Box is a 997!

    lol, nice experiment, but i don't like the result... maybe we should keep "ze enzjin" in "ze back"... for when "ze germans" get there...

    It's amazing how much like a Z3 it looks like. Thank heaven for the rear engine layout

    If Porsche ever put an engine in the front on the 997 they would NEVER do that to the rear. They would make the car look the same.

    Anyone check out page 38 of the latest Car and Driver? Panamera 2-door GT Coupe to compete directly with the other front engine based GT cars....rebirth of the 928.
