Test drove 996 GT3 - are you supposed to hear the LSD work?
I test drove an 04 GT3 with 11k miles which has been tracked. Whenever I turned the car at all, I heard what sounded like grinding or rubbing or something from the back. The salesman said it was the LSD working, but I find it strange that it should be so intrusive.
It was a blast to drive, and it still has a year on the warranty, so I am sure it would get sorted out if there was a problem, but I was wondering whether such a noise was normal. I am guessing not.
I asked for the service dept to download the stats on how many the times the car had been redlined and banged off the rev limiter. It will be interesting to see what info that reveals.
TIA
PS Any advice on what you would pay for a speed yellow 04 GT3 with 11k miles, and a track history?
