    Pics GT3 during my test drive

    Test drove the car for 1 1/2 hour today.
    Fantastic.
    I liked the direct feel of the chassis
    Precision
    Sound
    Power
    Easily a daily driver as suspension not much harder then my -20mm


    Liked less: precision of gear box, specially when the car is ' twisted'
    power ( one does want always more)
    Thought the car could be more ruff and scary

    Conclusion to me: It' s a comfortable race car witch I could easily become addicted to !

    Gnil - you take the best pictures!

    Just to clarify - are you saying that PASM in 'Normal' mode on the GT3 is very slighly stiffer / harsher ride than your -20mm suspension on the C4S ?

    Yes.. in Normal mode I did find the GT3 very similar to my -20 mm. Maybe not even harder. In sports mode ( suspension) it is pretty hard and the car jumps a lot on bumpy roads. It's fun but scary for the passenger

    I find the shifter not to be very precise. If you are not exactly in front of the gear, it ' notches'. When driving on ruff roads , when coming into a bend and the car is under lots of torsion, the gear does not go in very smoothly nor precisely.( You have to realy make the H movement )

    The acceleration is much better then my C4S, even though one does not realise it that much after a few accelerations.
    You do notice it when you look at the speed on the tachometer. You are so much faster in the Gt3 !!

    The extra rews is where I felt a big difference.... It just pushes so much longer.
    The car starts actually at about 3000 t/min and has a very linear acceleration all the way up to the red line

    I love the look of the GT3 with the "cup looking" decals!!

    Obviously it's not for me but it gives to the car a even more aggressive look!

    Thanks for the pictures and the review!

    BTW I didn't found any "notchyness" in the gearbox, even during some hard lap at the Nordschleife! My guesses are that this could be a problem of that specific car.

    when I testdrove the car (the same one) four weeks ago, everything was perfect with the gearbox. no notchyness, pure and straight shifting feel, like it should be and much better than on my old 996 gt3 mkII. I think the car had some bad hands (drivers) in the meantime, don't forget it's a test car that goes from dealer to dealer and there are a lot of unexperienced people out there. don't judge the car because of them;)

    @ Fanch: No....( but would love to).. will have to think about it in the future. My brother is baying one so I will get to drive it too

    @Jeannot: Yes, Marchairuz and Mollendruz the same morning , plus all the great roads in between

    @MaxT Beany : This car had 8000 km.... and had about 6 different drivers each day... So I can well imagine that the gearbox had been ruined by the abuse it got. But, could this mean that with time the GT3 gearbox could become notchy if not well looked after...

    @Freddie: No, was not me. This is a demo car for Switzerland..

    @Searteeth: The brakes where good, but I did not find them better ten on my C4S ( which has the pre braking help) Maybe I was not used to have to push harder and did not try them on a track for extreme comparison)
    The other day I tried a C4S with PCCB and that was MUCH better!!
