If they install a more luxurious interior in it and fix the steering feel, this car will also be a winner in Europe (hey, perceptions can only go so far ).

    Re: Chevy 650 hp Corvette

I know that chevy is coming out with a new vette next year with a code name "Blue Devil". It will have 650 H.P. and in order to buy one you 1st have to complete a class that GM offers to qualify as a buyer. No passing the class no buying the car as Chevy believes people will get themselves killed if they don't know how to drive this beast.

Makes sense. The Z06 seems to have taught them a lesson.

    Very reasonable.

This car looks to me better and better, and I love their politics related with power: no stupid restrictions. People at GM go forward and forward...not as many EU cars that only get "slight" improvements with a bit more of HP and more or less facelifts...at diamond prices!

You can always Ruf your 997TT to 650 bhp for the price of one Z06 .

    Re: Chevy 650 hp Corvette

I am very curious to know what time it will do on the Nurburgring...

    Re: Chevy 650 hp Corvette

It's going to be a very special car, that's for sure. I just asked my dealer about it and he doesn't even have a deposit for one yet! I bought my Z06 from him late last year at MSRP (he doesn't believe in asking over sticker - you need to be local and don't want to sell the car for a profit). I'm seriously contemplating buying one.

On another note, Callaway is developing a Magna Charger for the current Z06. It should also make about 650hp (emissions legal). They are the only one's developing it. Magna Charger sold the rights to Callaway for the development. They have the supercharger for the standard LS-2 right now. It makes 560hp.

Callaway is also a special car and the man behind the car is a genuis. I have alot of respect for him. I see the Z06's more and more on the streets of southern CA and the more I see them the more I like them. The dealers mark them up to $85,000 now and while still a bargain I would rather not pay the mark up

There's plenty of dealers that will sell for $3K over sticker. Kerbeck had three Z06s in stock last weekend. They'll ship anywhere. They're coming down in price.

Oh, I also had my roof reglued on so it doesn't fly off when I'm cruising at 110mph!

    Re: Chevy 650 hp Corvette

Everyone keeps talking about HP, and putting a supercharger or H/C package will give you 650hp. While this is no doubt a true statement, I think the Blue Devil will be much more than a Z06 with a supercharger as visualized in this picture. I know many who have 500hp small blocks all day long with tons of miles. I think the global community knows that the US can make HP, but I hope this Blue Devil puts and end to the debate that we go around corners right with the best of them

    Re: Chevy 650 hp Corvette

Im sorry but you have to be very retarded not to see that the upper part on that hood is Photoshoped!

    Good question!

And related to it, can anybody tell me if there are figures about the Z06 in the Ring?

7:43 is the reported time if I remember correctly, although it is somewhat controversial...

    Thank you very much Grant!

Uff, In any case, impressive.....Who says a Corvette is bad in corners?

Nurburgring is the example of almost every different and difficult corner you can face in any situation....you have to be very patient to learn that dangerous ring (and the nicest in earth for me!). So, 7:43 is a remarkable time.

Again, who said a nowadays Corvette is not convinient in corners (can't remember the number, but in the ring there are quite a bit)?

Sorry European manufacturers, but with a fraction of the price you can get this....fresh, american.....and wait for the 650 HP.......

If Corvette goes to mid-engine, who will stop this beauty?

It only needs an interior improvement............let's be impartial
