How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

    As I have been getting 250 - 265 KM's to the tank.

Are the x50 even more thirsty than this???

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

I about that but in town OR with spirited driving other wise I get around 300.

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

    Wow,

These puppies really do drink like fish.

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

    :O seems pretty low.
Can I ask you how do you guys drive?
    Hard or relaxed?

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

So what's the mileage you can expect with a stock one?

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Last month, I drove from the Nürburgring back to Zürich very softly and almost only in 6th gear because my gearbox was dying. Here's the result:

    531 km = 330 miles
    122 km/h = 76 mph
    9.5 l/100km = 24.75 mpg

My car is an August 2000 996TT with Sportec's stage 3.

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

    Less than 10 L/100km!!!
    Bravo Pierre, that's amazing!
    Kudos to Porsche really.
Now the truth, you were driving at 110 kmh werent' you?

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Fanch, avg speed was 122km/h, and that includes passing the border, some slow driving (6th gear works well at 70-80km/h too), etc. I tried to be as constant as possible, with the cruise-control at just above 140km/h most of the time. All in all, impressive stuff, especially for a 542hp/788Nm car...

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Hi Pierre, it seems we are very close to each other.
Very interesting report your one. Amazing i would say.
    Do you live in Zurich?

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

The best I managed was something like 11,5L/100km. Tomorrow dawn I'm leaving to Ascari Race Resort (www.ascari.net) near Malaga, south of Spain (following an invitation from Club Pasion Porsche) which is 865km away from where I live (Oporto, Portugal) there will be many speed traps on the way so I will be doing around 140km/h and I'll see whats the average consumption.

Mine is Stock and I have really been getting 250 KM's to the tank which is 64 Litres.

When you drive it hard, with lots of stop, start take off. You can literally see the needle moving down.

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Will be interesting to see what Kiko gets today...

FYI, I once did a test and drove about 150km on the highway in very low traffic conditions (middle of the night) and at a constant speed of 120-125km/h (cruise-control). The result was amazing: 8.9 l/100km !

On the other end of the scale, I usually see 28-32 l/100km at the Nürburgring. The higher consumption I had was at the circuit of Lédenon (south of France): the onboard computer showed... 42 l/100km ! (Very high air temperature, aircon on, short up- and down-hill track)

Those are pretty good figures for the N'rign actually - due to the high amount of braking and RPMs consumption is generally higher on a circuit than on the street!

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

You think that's thirsty? Think again! A friend of mine bought a Lancer EVO IX this year. After breaking it in by the rules for the first 1000 km (driving like a grandma), he invited me to come with him for the first spirited drive. After about an hour or so of not completely bets-off driving (fast, but not really pushing it everywhere), covering about 100 kilometres, he looks at me, and says: "I think I've bought the wrong car," pointing at the fuel gauge. It was down to below the 1/2 mark (on a 58 litre tank, it was full when we took off). If you took that car to the Ring, you'd probably need to take an extra gas can with you, just so you could finish . Really, every car can consume a lot. The important thing is to drive with as constant a speed as possible (that's why, in the city, you consume about as much as you would at reasonably high-speed driving on the highway).

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

I can second Pierre's experience: getting below 9 litre/100km is possible with this car (mine's bone stock 420 hp August 2000 version). However, it's boring like hell . In everyday driving (mix city/highway) I average 12 - 13 litre/100km. On a committed track-day (Spa Francorchamps) I get it up to 33 litre/100km).

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Thanks a lot guys for your experience's report.
For me is very useful to know that a beast can also be a little kitty if treated with regards and not a Dracula thirsty of blood

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

I make +- 350 kms with a full tank with an average fuel consumption of 13,2l/100kms when I drive normally.

    Crash,

I too have experienced this in a Rice Rocket before. As my Brother a Subaru WRX and I can clearly remember driving it one day watching the tank empty before my eyes.

It must be a turbo thing. Keep them spooled up and watch the petrol blow...

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

550 kms with a tank not pushing is what i got from this weekend. Mainly highway with a little bit of very heavy city traffic.

Considering consumption the car seems to behave not bad.

    Cheers

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

Arrived from Ascari last night and, as promised I kept a close eye on fuel comsumption. At an average 140km/h (on the BC) wich translates to be driving steady at 150km/h (on dash) the car did 11,1 L/100km and at 180km/h (173km/h average) it did 13 L/100km, above this speed the fuel comsumption arises substantially.

I did 950km at an average 140km/h (150km/h steady on the dash), approx. 100km on the track, on the way back I did 1050km with 400km at 140km/h steady, then 570km at 180km/h steady and a 335km/h burst (this speed was rev limited by the 7000rev limiter) and the overall comsuption for this was 13,2 L/100km.

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

New update: 410 kms with normal driving on secondary roads.
If you push hard instead you get a figure of 330 kms....but you also lose your license very soon....

    So Silver??

Did you end up buying a Turbo??

Re: How many KM's do you guys get to the tank.

I test drove one of a friend but i'm still looking for the right one.
