    Black R8 in Paris

    Why are there tons and tons of pictures of the silver and blue R8s on the stand in Paris, but not a single picture of the Black R8 that is there as well? Is it a conspiracy, was it shown "behind closed doors"....anyone

    Tim, you are on something here!
    Phantom Black R8 is in VIP salon at Audi Paris stand! My brother saw it in person, but no pics were possible! Well, he took few any way(mobile phone camera).
    If you watch that AMS se video carefully you could see few interesting things on that R8:
    -seats in very light grey(almost white), Audi Exclusive option
    -Ceramics brakes

    These options are not yet even on official German price list.
    And there were a difference in brochure! Normal(smaller!) brochure for all visitors and thicker(with info about Exclusive options, Ceramic brakes etc.) one only in VIP salon. You could also touch and feel new lagguage set for R8(similar like F430 or Gallardo sets).

    I agree, I think light colors shows the car's aggressiveness much better.

    Indoor lighting at the show renders the reflective black R8 pretty much an unrecognizable " blob " to folks who haven't seen the car in detail elsewhere. OTOH, Audi should have permitted photographers to shoot this car outdoors, where I'm sure it would have looked spectacular.

    Absolutely agree. I'm starving to see "clear" pics of the R8. If together with a realistic test (That IS a difference with Porsche, I could test a 977 before buying it), I think I'll go this way....I any case, I can understand that testing the R8 will not be easy, as far as it's a new concept, a new car, and no stocks....but before changing, some test Kms. would be very welcomed.

    Moreover, I've read in the forum that only certain Audi dealers will be appointed to sell the R8...Can we know wich ones? (And, in my case, particulary in Barcelona)

    Interesting to see that the Phantom Black has a very blue tint to it.

    Black would be my choice for this car. Yes it would probably hide some of the details, but it just looks so damn cool
