now i am at 320km..with my new 997TT,and can't tell much more that first impressions..but i think that i can't go wrong telling you that IMHO the 996TT and the 997TT are two different cars,talking of a stock 996TT and a stock 997TT.
The steering of the 997TT is more reactive and direct that in the 996TT,the suspension in Sport mode are a must compared to the 996TT ones,the explosion of power is more strong that in the 996,also the adaptive seats make a big improvement,it seems that the car is more short,more a part of you...is difficult to explain,but it seems all more involving..
as soon i will have more feedback from the car making more kms,i will try to explain you my sensations

If you speak french, RS magazine (I think july edition) did a review of the 997 turbo compared to the stock 996 turbo. It is a very informative review and good comparative road test.
Here is a summary (from memory), they conclude that the 997 turbo is way better any every aspects than the 996 TT. More specifically, handling wise it is huge step foward, the car is more nimble easier to drive, much more balanced, less oversteer, more demanding, more "beasty" as well...list goes on and on. Even engine wise there is big step foward as the numbers shows. Interior and look are subjective but I do think the 997 look way better inside out. As far as the brakes are concern there is an improvement, PASM better, suspension as well or better than X73 option on the 996TT.....
If you can't find it and do speak french, I can look IF I still have it and post picture of the test.
Keep in mind that porsche did improve all aspects of the car by a big margin.
