No, the 996 GT3 Cup and the RS are. Understandably...

What shocks me the most is the excellent brake timing for Mercedes' flagship performance lines (the SLR and CLK-DTM). Both cars are excessively heavy yet seem to get the job done...

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

    Nice list..........

But please, consider the "other" cars...as Caterhams, Atoms, Gardner Douglas, etc. Much faster....and cheaper...

If we are about a compromise between confort and performance, all the goodies in the list are O.K.

But, if you are serious about performance, and do not care about comodity, sorry but there are other cars, ....real fast cars....but allowded to be driven in an open road.....

The Caterham, Atom and etc are not on this list because they've never been tested on this pacticular test.

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

Btw, the 25.9s - Donkervoort D8 180R made it on the list, it's a shame the 300bhp Atom hasn't been tested

    25.9 - 210 PS/650kg (03/01)

Yes, a pitty they are not considered in major ocassions....just a thougth: a Donkervoort with "only" that H.P. can do that time...........a 300bpm Atom or, an V8 Gardner Douglas, can breathtake!

Much more than the "supercars". It's only a matter if what you want is as "daily sportscar" or if you really want to go fast.

Just as an example, go to Rennteam's thread regarding to Nürgurgring cars lappin' "The Ultimate Nürburgring Video-Lap Thread " (Many Thanks PAGANI!), and watch the video of the "Radical" ............that is serious performing ..cant remember the lap time, but, at least to me, "brushes my hair"......as far as I can remember, much faster than any $$$$$$ "supercar"...........not to mention the "electric Atom" Vs a Porsche GT: it's like a bicycle against a jet

Can you bet who was the tortoise and who was the rabitt?

The Radical achieved 6:55 seconds and that nukes everything

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

By the way, i'd be interested to see what the Donkervoort D8RS06 achieves, considering it recently hit 200 km/h in 9.3 seconds (Sport Auto)

Please allow me some research...if i find something of on the net i'll inmediattelly share.....in any case, Donkervoort are really nice.....still, consider other builders..

Yeserday, I was talking with a very close friend who was for years a product manager engenieer for Jaguar Cars (By the way, a top developer of the ABS), and I asked him what was the best option in this direction, and, himself, talking with "all life" British costumer friend of real track performence cars, told me that the Gardner Douglas Chasiss is really well engeniered..I beleive it, but in this lonely islasnd "reality", personal testing and taste are definate.......

Myself, very, very tempted towards an R8 (I love it!, but let's see), next spring I'll go to UK and test soome of those real performers (not before because I am going to "kill myself" -getting married- )

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

    Nice list.

No Z06... No 997TT. This should be interesting.
My guess is these two cars will be the cheapest in the top 10.

I agree with you, they should be...but not the cheapest nor the fastest

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

No wonder the Koenigsegg is the fastest considering that power-to-weight ratio! It only weighs 141 kg! Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Please, and excuse my short understanding, could you give those figures clearly?

    141 Kg?...related to what?
    to the car's weight/engine power?
    What's the car weight?

Those times are related ...to which track?

    Thanks in advance...

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

In any case, if a Cayenne costs "that" in your so beautiful country, I'd seriously consider a change of goverment (and the so called "Wallfare".........but, for whom?), or absolutelly feel welcome to the mediterranean sun!

(In spite our "dear" politicians are driving us to the same wrong and topic situation)

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

As far as I can find in my archives (from a previous rennteam post) 0-100-0 m/h:

As far as i know the times are recorded on an open runway where Sport Auto runs many of their tests.

The actual weight of the CCR is 1418kg, it is of course a typo.

Sport Auto has recorded the Z06 with a 0-200 km/h time of 12.0 seconds dead, with a rough guess adding an extra 4.9 seconds tacked on for braking i believe the Z06 is about 16.9 seconds. The Turbo should be in the same ballpark.

The M5 was has defiently been eating a lot of pies latley

The weather conditions could be a little to blame, considering the M5 was done in 13 degree Celuis and the M6 done in a 16 degree temp, but then that isn't a huge difference. The M5 hit 200 km/h in 13.8 seconds which is a full second slower than the M6 which took 12.8 seconds. A huge part to this huge time difference came down to the braking, it took the M5 5.4 seconds to stop from 200 km/h where as it took the M6 just 4.7 seconds.

Long range braking on the M6 was fantastic, pulling up 129.7 metres from 200 km/h compared to the M5 which took 149.4 metres.

By the way, if anyone wants to request a certain Sport Auto supertest feel free, i might have it in my archive.

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

BMW M6 faster than the F430, Murci, Gallardo, 996 GT3 Cup and RS, and 997 GT3? Somehow I doubt that one, mostly because of its weight...

    Gary

    Re: Sport Auto 0-200km/h-0

Why is yhe 996 GT3RS faster than the 997 GT3??? Is that right.

Thanxx for the stats anyways Pagani
