You are right! The car looks pretty large in Grigio Silverstone.

Black looks good, but perhaps it hides the lines of the 599 just a little bit too much. In silver the car looks too massive, as already stated, so if you want to go with a "non-colour" like black/grey/silver, I think the dark silverstone grey looks just stunning. Black metallic perhaps would also do, but still I would prefer dark grey.
... or something more "colourful", but definetely not rosso corsa.

The track times available so far indicate that the car has a quite superior track performance as well

Yeah that slalom isn't that fast, but as it was poined out below the 599 GTB is a GT car. Still pulls superb acceleration times and i was surpirsed by the braking figures.

Are you absolutely sure about those numbers? For a low-torque machine the CGT performs very well, almost too well in 6th gear. I remember Röhrl giving some comments reg. that issue.
How severe is the understeer on the 599? Tiff Needel reported about it in the FifthGear episode, so far this was the only detailed track report about that car!
