Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

    Some key metrics:

    0-100kph: 3.7s
    0-160kph: 7.4s
    0-200kph: 11.2s

    100-0 (cold): 34m
    100-0 (warm): 32m
    190-0: 119m

    Top-speed: 333kph

    Test weight: 1753kg

    Average fuel consumption: 22.4l/100km

They rated the car 5 stars (out of a maximum of 5 stars). Very positive comments regarding steering, suspension, brakes etc.

    Sounds great

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

    Hey Markus,
How about 80-120km/h(both in 5. and 6. gear)?
You like test data, don't you?
But, despite all that power it is heavy car...

200 kg heavier than the Turbo... But boy, does it go! I wonder how it would do in a head-to-head race against the LP640 .

The numbers are on par with the official figures from Ferrari. Good to know, that you finally can rely on the official data since the introduction of the F430.

I will post 200-300kph next week Thursday

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

But, just a little warning-it will be little bit slower in Sport Auto test...
Why? I do not know but, as 997 Turbo recent test in Sport Auto(slower then AMS test) 599 GTB will suffer from same slower test as well.
Pretty strange if you ask me.
Even BMW 335i was slower in Sport Auto Supertest then on normal AMS comparsion between manual and automatic version.
Magazines... They are more like catalogues these days I guess...

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

Great accleration figures! Would you happen to have any in-time accleration figures (80-120, 4th, 5th, 6th)?

    Thanks for the post btw

You are right, 80-120 is also better than for the 997TT

Of course, if it was 200kg lighter it would be perfection. However, it would be like the Enzo then - and no perfect mixture between GT and super sportscar any longer

The 599 is about 150kg heavier then the 997TT (based on AMS data). The LP640 is another 100kg or so heavier than the 599...

Well, concerning the numbers for the 599, Nick now would put up the conspiracy theory of a Horst von Saurma not able and willing to achieve good results in an Italian car (especially when it comes from Maranello).

Thanks God, that the numbers for the 997tt were somehow slower as well.

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

I am glad you approve it!
599 GTB is THE BEST FRONT ENGINE TRUE SPORTSCAR OF ALL TIMES IMHO!

    Stefan,
    You pretty much know everything!
Uh! 599 GTB is such a nice car... NO! I will stop here...

Ferrari did an amazing job with the 599 GB Fiorano.

Grigio Silverstone is very nice - however, a bit too popular. I have seen around 6 599GTB to date. 4 of which were Grigio Silverstone...

What do you think of silver?

Suspect wt diffce btwn US-spec 599 w/CCM, F1, racing seats, all comfort options and full 28+gall fuel tank vs 997TT w/Tip, PCCB, adap spt seats, all comfort options (incl US mandatory sunroof) and full 17.7gall fuel tank is <50kg....

    Consider what 640/SL65/Veyron weigh....

Then ask how precise one's own sense of wt is (if blinded to actual wts) for today's perf cars w/latest-tech chassis/trannies/brakes, etc on normal, imperfect roads ....latest N-ring/Hoch times for allegedly heavy GT cars are awfully close to (and sometimes better than) super-lean, more one-dimensional wannabe racecars, in hands of a pro in a controlled setting....

Wt conscious wannabe racecar drivers on a budget should get a GT3RS...and those w/a few more bucks should get an FXX and not deal w/silly street car compromises....

Not sure in-gear accel times are particularly useful metrics in a world of fast-shifting trannies, like 599 F1, and some cars like 65 where turbo lag/gearing seem almost irrelevant to mid-range accel....and others like 997TT that do suffer from annoyingly apparent turbo lag and where perhaps Tip shift times (or one's manual shift speeds/accuracy) are more relevant....

Not really. Out of these two, I would prefer the one in the background.

    Would black suit you more?

P.S.: The 599 even looks good in Rosso Corsa (which I would have never believed before I saw it...)

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

Car that I tried was Argento Nurburgring(Silver) and it look little bit too big in it...
Myabe Nero Daytona is a nice choice for you!

Re: Ferrari 599GTB tested by German AMS magazine

    Some leather for 599...
