    My day on an airfield with M5board.com (photos+videos)

    My pictures from the day. My videos will come later but I know Gustav are preparing videos as we speak. I will post them here later.










    My own videos will include different cars racing (a lot of films from the outside, me standing on the airfield filming different races) also me in inside a few cars, such as RS4 and a C43 AMG. GT2 racing a M5 E60, 997 Turbo racing a M6 and a Z06 racing a F430.

    My God the M6 was just eaten alive by the Z06 and the Gallardo got it's has a$$ kicked by the M6. thanks for sharing bud

    That's a pretty interesting place, is that an abandoned WWII airfield. I like how the hangers have grass growing on top of them so a bomber wouldn't know if it was a just a hill or an actual hanger.

    Sweden was neutral in WW2. The Germans needed swedish steel more than they needed swedish land. However, you may be spot on regarding the era.

    Thanks for the videos! Very interesting indeed.

    Unfortunately, you guys did not go beyond 250kph. Only in that speed range (250-300kph) material perfromance differences would be observed...

    That sounds like a pretty convincing argument

    For illustration: between 200kph and 250kph the 997TT has nearly identical performance as the old 450hp 996TTS. However, above 250kph the 997TT gains 5-8 seconds on the 996TTS.

    And based on our comparison, the old 996TTS is on par (up to around real 310kph) with a tuned and delimited M6. That is, above 250kph the 997TT should be noticeably quicker than any M5/M6...

    How does a 3300-3400 lb. 500 bhp Gallardo lose to a 3900-4000 lb. 500 bhp M6?

    Anyone know what bhp the two V10's are actually pumping out and what the drivetrain loss percentage is?

    I am thinking the same, I mean the Gallado just got smoked. It should be a close race.

    Thanks for the videos! I saw Gustav's posts on the M5 board.

    Sorry, but the guy in the Z06 wrote in. He was starting in the wrong gear! From a roll, they were starting at 30mph and he was in 2nd gear! He definitely should have been in first gear! The difference in the way the car pulls is tremendous at that speed. The Z will do 60mph in first gear.

    I know the owner of the yellow Z06, we also beat a F430 with the second gear.

    to be fair with the M6, they were two people and the Z06 only one. Doesnt matter really, the Z06 would still win

    While I am not a Vette lover I have to say more power to that beast Z06. How the GM engineers created such a monster at such a price while German and Italian engineers can not quite match the car performance at the same price. I hate to say this but I praise GM for this one

    They raced the old, 500 bhp Gallardo. What interests me is why Lambo geared the car in such a way that it only starts making ground above 250 km/h. It's certainly powerful enough to be quicker in the straight line. Once Lambo sorts that out, the Gallardo can pretty much be crowned King in its segment.
