RC:The interior of the Bentayga is quite nice though (if you are looking for leather, wood and luxury...).
True, It's not ugly, it's well done for what they want to achieve but the problem it's that I see myself wanting that interior only maybe 50-60 years down the line from now ... Much prefer the Audi interior myself.

ALDO:Carlos, did you drive a Bentley yet?
After my first ride I was so overwhelmed. It is very special, although you have 625 hp you use the right lane. Sometimes I enjoy all the luxury around me and the comfort riding. I could imagine to buy the next few years one.
I'm sure it is special but I'm just speaking for myself only, I can see how other may appreciate and enjoy it but I cannot identify with that interior or the ultra quiet and confortable ride experience, no matter how well carried out it does not resonate with me, maybe many years down the line if my mindset and priorities changes with age... but right now, I cannot tune into that at all.

Agreed, Carlos.
My wife always wanted a Bentley Continental Cab, she loved the look of it. Then, we met with a couple we know in Florida and they picked us up in the Continental Cab. After 20 minutes, my wife knew this wasn't a car for her, she loves the 991.1 C4 GTS Cab I have and she plans to buy(!) it when the lease ends next year.
I had the chance to drive the Continental Cab, it is a very mundane drive feel but nothing I would really ever want for myself. Very comfortable car but everything about it screams "I just retired, look at me..."
Only sat in a Bentayga (at a Lamborghini dealership ) and while I like the Bentayga with 12 cyl. engine as some sort of dinosaur, I would never get one for myself. A G63 AMG would make much more sense (for me) or...a RSQ7 (if and when it comes). Maybe even the Urus if I'd have the money and wouldn't care about the neighborhood or where I park the car. In the end, I will end up with a GLC63 S AMG though, I am pretty sure about it. This car is perfect for me, a bit smaller, not too flashy, enough room for short trips, incl. skiing and a bad ass V8 Biturbo with 510 hp. Perfect.
Or...the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk...this one is really badass. Will be too expensive though for the quality it offers I'm afraid.

SciFrog:Isn't the GLC the same size and segment as a Macan?
Yes...but with a V8 engine... Also...cheaper (I assume) and less flashy (just a simple Mercedes GLC ).
We really don't need a bigger SUV anymore since my kids don't want to join my wife during skiing anymore (kids... ) and our skiing vacations were actually the ones when we needed most of the luggage room.

996FourEss:If Merc can shoe-horn a V8 (4.0 biturbo) into a GLC, surey the fine Porsche engineers could also do the same re the Macan (i.e. Put the new 4.0 V8 in from the Panamera and upcoming Cayenne). That would be fantastic!!
I gave up this hope but you never know...
AMG really dropped a performance bomb on Porsche and other manufacturers in this segment with the GLC.

The Bentley has the cheapo dash from the Q7 LOL. $250K car and they can't even give you the virtual cockpit? This is why uber luxury cars like this fail IMO. They often get caught up missing technology updates. Pretty soon you're gonna have self-driving Toyota and Audis, yet you'll still probably find Bentleys that don't.

You're paying for a bunch of wood and leather. They don't throw in all the latest and greatest technology and it takes ages for them to do so.
Looks fully digital to me or am I wrong?

It's not, just the center is.
ALDO:and I like it more - I hat fully digital displays - but I also like the bentley interior
You can simulate any analogue display, incl. 3D characteristics and more. Many people won't even notice the difference, the tech is quite advanced now.
I once had an Open Kadett GSi, one of the rare cars with a digital speedo (see photo). This was over 30 years ago.

The Bentayga is the first Bentley I have bought - 1300 mile only First Edition - for once I let someone else take the depreciation . This was after driving it back to back with my Cayenne Turbo S. The Bentayga makes the Turbo S feel like a truck. Sure the Turbo S handles much better but I don't need that in my family SUV. The speed and smooth delivery of it by the Bentley (plus all the toys in the First Edition) more than makes up for the lack of handling. I always thought the Cayenne was pig ugly though it has got better with every generation - but I have had 5 of them. The Bentayga is hideous too - but I can't see that when I am driving it!

I remember very well the GSI, I used to trashed them with my 205 GTi 1.9 . Fiat Ritmo also had a digital speedo but at time the digital speedo did not conquer the market.
