Cobalt and sand sounds like a very hot combination to me. Guards and sand is another great combination and, I think, fairly well accepted here in the US. (I had a 968 cab in Guards/Sand that always turned heads.) Unless you totally have a focus on resale, ignore the advice of the dealers and salespeople. I've found that they're often wrong. If their taste was that good, they'd be designing cars, not selling them.
