1/2 city 1/2 highway. In the city I keep it under 4K rpms, in the highway obove 5K frequently. I have owned it for 3 months and have about 4500miles and no head lights
I swear you guys who get over 20 mpg must drive like old ladies. I average 14.7 mpg after 9k miles on 91 octance fuel. Average speed is 29 so I am driving in the city about 1/2 the time.
My average speed for a tank over a weekly commute is 78KM/Hr or about 50M/HR. Mix of highway and city. The car is well used everyday, with a couple of trips to redline where appropriate. The car is driven safely and as fast as traffic allows. So, yes I get good gas mileage and the car is driven; maybe I am lucky or just broke the car in right. The car has 14,000 miles on it after 16 months, with no winter driving.
BTW, nothing less than 94 octane is used. I did have problems with the lower octane super that is normally used around here (91). Fuel consumption was higher and there were times of hesitation, knocking and the like. This car likes the higher octane, despite the fact that it is hard to find and .50 a gallon more than regular super.
I have done some long distance drving at 85 m/hr and seen 26miles per USGallon. Must say that that I was pleased.
Pure city driving with the AC on in the summer is an absolute killer ~14Mpg if I a lucky. I avoid pure city driving and take one of our other cars. In my opinion, what is the point of driving a great sports car if you cannot use it?
My car is avg. 15.6mpg but,I've been pushing her really hard. She see right at the redline several times in a drive. If I drive more civil it's more around 17mpg (one redline visit per outing)
It improves massively as you clock up some miles. I got 28mpg meandering down the M1 last night ("legal" speeds). I'm just approaching 10,000 miles now.
One highlight of the journey however - I was overtaken by a beautiful Seal Grey Carrera GT!! The first one I've seen on the road in the UK. Awesome. Dig those LED turn indicators
