Nice video J.! Two friends of mine have bought themselves M6's (lighter than the M5) one of them has been delivered, the other will be delivered next month. As soon as I get the change will make a comparison and I'll post the results here.

    Re: 996TT stage II vs 996TT X50 stage I vs M5

That will be a great comparo, but I believe you'll get the M6, you have more power and less weight. Can't waite to hear your report.

    "I believe you'll get the M6"

I don't think so... I thing will be pretty even if you ask me.

BTW I was on the A13 from Sto Estevâo to Porto last Friday and had the chance to break the 330 km/h barrier, I was with my father-in-law in the car, full of bags and it was bit windy so I lifted off but I had some more to go...

    Re: 996TT stage II vs 996TT X50 stage I vs M5

The video shows you can beat the M6. This 996TT is making more or less the same power you're making, and it gets more than 5 cars distance in no time from the M5.
Your car is making 11,4 to 11,9 to 200Kph and you have your RS kit tested together with TTP, Gemballa and Sportec 996Turbos, and it was one of the fastest of the lot. I belive it run less than 12sec to 200Kph(don't have the mag right here with me).
The M6 is an amazing car and can smoke easily a 996TT stock, but your car is far from stock regarding power
I know, you know deep inside you'll eat the M6

    J. Thanks for the support! But we'll see...

here's the link to the testing done by Sport und Auto, RS Tuning car was the only one in the test with stock K16's all others were on K24's or hybrids still it does the 0-200 sprint in 12,5secs though.

Kiko you're in for a surprise when you race the M5!! (a nice surprise that is).
Just remember to disconnect PSM and not to ride the clutch too much on first gear. The M5 is almost 2 tonnes, there will be no race.
In my tt (540 sportec with modified K16s) I don't even have to do proper launch to pass an M5. Not worth the clutch wear..

    Re: 996TT stage II vs 996TT X50 stage I vs M5

    GT hi,

The thing is, its an M6 which considerably lighter (carbon roof, carbon bumper reinforcent, etc).

Here's a link to an inflated discussion on a Porsche forum involving an M5board administrator with some pretty videos.

    http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57073

P.S. TO EVERYONE: Come on you guys, this is the most friendly, educated, non-ricer Porsche forum and the 996 Turbo sub-forum as no activity whatsoever for days, please make an input!!!

Sorry to say Kiko, but if you want some good threads about your car you'll have to go to Rennlist or 6speed(the ricer as you call it), the 996 model is out of fashion for long time here, nowadays Rennteam is mostly a 997 models forum, the best by far for newer Porsche.

As to the M6, even with all those save weight items, it still way more heavy than 996TT, so no chance for the Bimmer.

That's Gustav's forum and there are many doubts regarding those results at 6speedonline, especially because Markus (MKSGR) raced both a standard and a tuned M6 with his stock 996TT X50 and beat the standard M6, while staying neck-and-neck with the tuned M6, all the way to 310 km/h.
