    U.S. How much for just an oil change on 997S?

    I was just wandering what everyone else pays for an oil change at about 6,000 miles on their 997S. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

    I paid 130 in the Bay Area (oil/filter)

    Around $190 on special. Check to see if they have any specials or when they will.

    I am at 5k miles, I think I should change the oil 2, its been a year now. Havent checked prices, but hey those prices arent 1/2 bad.
    The Porsche dealers do send out brochures in the mail with their specials.
    I saved $100 on an alignment special shopping dealers in the Bay Area!

    I went out bought the oil and the filter and the shop near me charged $20 labor.

    It cost me ~ $50 for the filter , Mobil 1 oil and a new oil plug washer .

    Carlsen Porsche in RWC - actually, it was approx 140 dollars. I've seen ads in the local PCA publication for 99 dollars at an east bay dealership.
    It isn't cheap, but man is it much more reasonable than what others are quoting!

    In the SF Bay I've seen often promotions at around $100 for an oil/filter change.

    Same here but they didn't change the oil filter.(not part of what P will pay for.) Fortunately the filter was done not too long ago.

    Yes, I meant the rear main seal repair that I had done at approximately 6000 miles.

    Although my dealer is generally very high with his markups I brought in my car a couple of weeks ago just for an oil-filter change (997S). I also had him take the car to a local tint shop to have the windows tinted (paid seperatly). They provied me with a new C Class rental for the day (replace used fuel only) while the oil was being changed and the windows tinted. Total cost using Mobil1 0-40 - $52 US. Amazing!

    Is there any particular reason to go to a dealer for an oil change? It's just oil, anyone can put it in. I kind of like driving up to the local Jiffy Lube and seeing if there's a short line. If so, I get Mobil 1 and a new filter in about 30 minutes.

    Yes, it's extremely easy to change oil in a 997 (no pesky dry sump to drain and only one filter unlike the old days )

    Seriously, I could change the oil in my 996 in about 15 minutes (compared to hours on the 993).

    How much was the JL oil change? And did they have the correct filter on hand?

    I paid about $150 for a 986, with oil, filter and a flush. Probably didn't need the flush, so I got a bit scammed. I got to look at a new Mustang GT while my car was being worked on. Then I got a free car wash. And Dunkin Donuts is next door, so I had coffee and a glazed donut. But I had to pay for that.
