It's sheet metal! how much would 2 square feet of sheet metal weigh? I would hazard a guess at right about a pound. Look at the inside roof of a 911 race car, the middle of the roof is just bare metal and has no structural utility (in terms of crush in a role over, it does have utility in terms of lateral bracing).
That is why most racers do not replace the roof with something lighter like Aluminium sheet, there just isn't a whole lot of weight savings to be had... That's why having 50+ lbs. up there in a sunroof is cruel and unusual punishment. It's the only thing up there that weighs anything!
