    Electronic Window Driver Side Problem

    My car's driver side window has the problem of not closing properly with the one touch rocker button. It opens fine with one touch all the way down but when you one touch it up, it closes not to the all the way upward position but tends to stop at the same place over and over again which makes the windows half closed and it is annoying. I read the manual and failed to find a solution but it did mention something about the window has a memory on its position, inputs?

    Anyone with this problem?

    Worst, this morning, it scared me a bit because I opened my window and was trying to fix it but at one point the window just failed to operate and it was simply in the down position all the time. It is stifling hot in HONG KONG and going to work suited up open topped just isn't a thing for me now so I was thinking about driving it to the dealer right away. I waited for a bit driving the car with the window down and thank god it worked after a short drive.

    Is this a common thing? I mean electronic windows these days should be no brainer as it is nothing new so I am surprised that it wasn't working properly. Or is it me?

    It's got a memory, so it can't be a no brainer...
    Sorry couldn't resist.

    I believe you can restore it's memory by holding the button down until the window is fully opened plus 10 seconds longer. That should restore the memory. The same procedure applies for closing.

    I have a similar problem for which the above-mentioned procedure hasn't helped though. The passenger side window "one-touch" for closing only works if the window is already half way up, below that, it doesnt' work. Opening it whith "one-touch" works fine.

    The manual should say something about having to restore the closing position of the windows after a battery disconnect or what have you. I guess for some reason that position was forgotten. Try that procedure and see if it helps.

    Thanks MattC that is exactly what I am experiencing and it is annoying. The passenger side works fine but whenever I go in and exit car parks, it looks like I can only lower the window and when I "one-touch" it up it stops half way and move back down a bit. However, if my window is half way up, then one touch will close it. Let me try your procedure but is yours working now or did you take it back to the dealer ?

    My drivers window is playing up.

    When fully down and I press one touch up, the window gets half way then stops and goes down. This then results in one touch up not working again and I have to hold down the switch till the window is fully up.

    Once up, it works again as per normal. Seems like a glitch in the anti trap mechanism. Annoying but not desperately important to get fixed immediately.

    Unfortunately not. But it is not annoying enough to go to the dealer just for this.

    Passenger side not used that often so let me double check. It seems like the mechanism is flawed some how. So when's the GT3 coming in? You gonna have 2 white ones now in your garage happy motoring.

    Yep, had this problem. 2 trips to West London never sorted it so tried Reading and it worked fine until last week!!! It's going in for it's first service in a few weeks so will get it (re)done then!!

    I reckon they used lube as the window was smeary for weeks.
