    Went drag racing in the Exige S

    Hey guys,

    Went drag racing in the Exige S this weekeend, car is unbelievably well for a 1.8 litre engine

    Had a race vs my friend's SL55 AMG, can you guess the outcome?!

    Car does 13.8 112mph on the 1/4 mile.

    I had no idea an Exige S would sound so great, I was afraid it would have that wheezy SC sound, in reality, not at all!!

    And you should hear one with a Bemani sport exausts... it sounds like a race car, with a deep loud and nervous sound, which is surprising for a small engine

    You should hear one with a 300hp Audi engine installed in one. One say you just might.

    4 cylinders is not enough. 6 is too many. 5 is just right.

    I have a Stage 2 exhaust system installed on the car, when it was stock it sounded too quiet!

    13.8 means with some work you would have a mid 12s car...considering the 112 mph..thats about 360 modena time...

    I was at the track (road course) this past weekend, and someone had 1 of only 4 Exige Cup's that made it's way to the US. Yes, that is the supercharged version, that is lighter and comes with a roll cage and fire suppresion system. It was very nice and pretty darn quick. The guy had his whole family with 3 cars (C6 Z06, Exige Cup, 997 Carrera S). They would all take turns and switch between the 3 cars throughout the day. I didn't realize the car was not street legal though...that is ashame.

    Jim - I remember those commercials. However, the German Audi engineer would not like the engine placement in the Elise. Remember "It's better to pull the car than to push"?

    I think the Audi Fox was the most "pulled" car in American history - if you count tow trucks.

    Whatever engine is in a Elise seems to be happy.

    Mikes Exige looks like a blast!

    Yes, a lot of people underestimate the Exige S. It is a quick little car

    Does it perform like you thought it would? Better/Worse?

    How does it compare to the Noble? I always thought of the Noble as a Maxi-Exige, actually, what the new Esprit should be like

    Was much better than what I thought it would. I was a little disappointed with the Exige, but the Exige S as forfilled all my expectations and surpassed them!

    It is a little slower than the Noble, but much much more managable. The Noble is just TOO quick
