and they say porsche's designers were lazy when they designed the 997.

I can't even see the difference. It says it's a bigger car. So it'll probably be heavier too. This means the handling could be affected by both size and weight.

Way to go beemer.

I LOVE the Mini , we had a yellow Cooper when it was just released in 2002 and it was a great car.

Argh, I would have loved to have turbo instead of supercharger! Small car turbo lag is a fun toy...

Yea, I get closer to 28mpg and I don't exactly hammer the gas. Let's be a bit more conservative BMW

Very good, my car does "drag a lot" which makes high speed highwaying a gas guzzle.

All in all, I think its a very competent upgrade, a la 996-->997 Porsche. I'd love to test drive one next time I go to my dealer!

Theres almost no change to the exterior.... It's still one of the most funky car designs around but the change is way to small IMO...

Question: how do you change the design of an icon, without making something wrong or worse?

The design is perfect, so why change anything? Remember the old Mini and how long we had to live with its design.

I'd say it's a new Mini, as the car has become bigger and also the engines and the interior are new.

BTW, shouldn't we call it New New Mini then?

i like the interior!
but the new cooper is slower than my "old" cooper with tuning. and i love my cooper. because i don't change it for the new new cooper
