I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PORSCHE!!!!

From Porsche Qatar, because they suck big time!!

Hi everybody,

Well I never posted anything on this forum, but guys I need to vent, I do read this forum on a daily basis though, you guys sure know a lot about cars!

I must say I really really wanted the 997tt, but I just sold my 997 carrera-s AND I SWORE NEVER TO BUY ANOTHER PORSCHE FROM PORSCHE QATAR!!.

You guys have it good out there, you can demand quality service, after all you did buy a Porsche, over here in Qatar the Porsche dealer have the worst reputation ever, the people who are supposed to be Porsche certified, don't know what they are doing. Im so sick of the way they do business its not even funny. Unprofessional, unskilled, and incompetent, I had a Porsche cayenne turbo b4 the 997-s so after three years of crap from these guys I decided to get rid of anything porsche and move on!

I mean I don't know why Porsche would allow their name to be destroyed like that?!? Ask any Porsche owner in Qatar how it is to own a Porsche, they all have horror stories to tell. I sent letters iv spoken to people at Porsche middle east, but no body really cares.

Don't get me wrong guys. . . all the other car dealerships in Qatar are great and extremely professional, but Porsche Qatar has been screwing there customers for years!! And from my conversations with Porsche middle east, they seem to know all about it, the owner of Porsche Qatar has been in and out of the courts for the past couple of years, he used to be the dealer for Ferrari, Lamborghini, VW, and Audi, but he couldn't hang on to them THANK GOD!! They were all given to more service oriented people!. So I guess Porsche gave him another chance!, WHY?? So us Porsche and car lover in Qatar can get screwed over and over!

I'm in love with the new 997tt but I can't do it, I refuse to buy a car and have incompetent people mess with it, to them it's all trial and error. Everything is all fine and dandy until the first service visit. Then all hell brakes loose!

All I wana know is why PORSCHE AG is allowing this to go on??????????? Help me out guys, is this the Porsche way of doing business??

You should complain directly to Porsche AG.
Although we sympathise with you, there's not much we can do sorry.
Bad service exists everywhere and Porsche is not responsible for this, you dealer is.

I second that. I would create a joint letter with those other unhappy P-owners from Quatar, substantiate the complains by explaining some of the most memorable horror stories (written in a friendly manner of course) and send the letter to PAG's Chief Sales Officer or Chief Executive Officer.

Actually Porsche AG will just refer me back to Porsche Middle East, I really doubt that Porsche AG don't know what's going on in Qatar, Im sure they have a pretty good idea, as long as sales are going up or keeping steady what do they care? It's such a small market to them. Im beginning to feel like this is the way Porsche does business, im sorry to say that, but that's how I feel at this moment, otherwise why would they permit this for so long? Don't they care about how customers perceive the Porsche Name?

Nice to hear from you, I hope all is well over there, sorry to stray from the topic, but as you know Qatar is a member of the security council, and im watching our Foreign minister everyday on Aljazeera, he's really trying to get a cease fire, but me and you know how complicated it is.

It's just every time I take my car in for service it almost has to go back within the next few days of it being out, and these are new vehicles bought from them with warranty and everything.

i sympathize with you. it sounds like the same bs a lot of us have experienced with porsche in the past. x- your on-going problems. in similar circumstances i'd be a non-porsche buyer also.

while my dealership appears to have improved, they are lightyears behind the entire lexus ownership experience. imo
it's a culture thing very difficult to change.

Sounds plausible, that PAG does only get the bigger picture (Porsche Middle East) and has no specific data/infos regarding Quatar. But if Porsche Middle East as a regional distribution headquarter doesn't solve the problems with the dealership in Quatar then you should tell PAG that Porsche Middle East obviously does not solve the problems although they should be aware of it (I assume that you and other P-customers from Quatar have spoken to the Middle East headquarter in the past).

Document everything you can (along with all the others) and take your case to Porsche ME. Get THEM on your side. Porsche does not want that kind of 'service' operation messing up their good name.

I think you're SOL. But, being a market like any other, when others like you stop buying the product the dealer fails and hopefully someone better comes in to take his place.

I disagree w/ Fanch. It's Porsche's name. The dealer is a franchisee. If it's really that bad, AG needs to remedy the problem.

A large part of ownership is the dealer experience. Why does Lexus do so well? Uninspiring cars, great dealers, service, reliability. Why did VW flop w/ Phaeton? Pretty good car but dealers used to selling $20-30k cars can't keep up w/ an $80k clientelle. (might be oversimplifying the Pheatons failure, but you get my point).

If you truly desire a Porsche, buy one out of warranty (or in for that matter) and have it serviced by a local Porsche specialist. I know a number of independent Porsche shops that are outstanding. Hopefully you can find one by you.

That's too bad. I imagine it's difficult to find a good pool of qualified/experienced tech.'s/advisor's in some places. The fault of Porsche, yes and no.

You need to build a good relationship with the OPC manager. That's the best thing to do. Get him a small gift in order for him to remember you. It works wonders.

I had a problem with Porsche Saudi and I escalated to PAG and they referred me to PME. To make a long story short, PME supported Porsche Saudi. Porsche will not ruin a corporate relationship because of customer complaints. Trying to get PME to change your local dealer is like boiling an ocean. It won't work. I also reached the same result with BMW AG, escalation does not work if you're alone.

If he's alone, no. But if he can get several dozen Porsche owners to sign on his complaint, that's a different matter. Also, it's bad publicity for Porsche if something like this gets out in other markets (US & EU). Nobody wants to buy a car from a company which leaves its customers hanging in the dry.

Hi Gunrnr, can you pls explain what didnt you like from porsche qatar?
because They have been excellent to me, I orderd my 997tt last Feb and I got it on the 27th of june
I wouldve agreed with you if you ment the old porsche dealer but the new dealer is doing alright imo.

I totaly agree with you 3 years ago they where exactly like that since they pay more attention to VW and audi,
but you know the new dealer have opend around 8 months ago and they have a new garage, new show room, you cant complain to porsche about 3 years ago you know.

Is Porsche Taiwan no good? I thought Porsche Centre Hong Kong quite all right. No complaints except once in a while they would drive your Porsche down the lift shaft!

I am sorry Oxonian but I dont agree with your approach! Why should I give someone a gift in order for him to carry the work that he is being paid to do? What you did is just encourage him to carry on doing his crapy work/behaviour so that people can give him/them "gifts" to do the job correctly.

Same here, have had countless problems with the Dubai service center, and when i get mad about it the become really rude.
Thats why i'm gonna get a gallardo or F430 instead of the 997tt, its simply not worth the poor service

how u doing man? anyway im not complaining about three years ago, im complaining about the whole three years!! i had nothing but trouble from them, i had a 997s and i loved it, but i took it in for the first service and it was all down hill from there as usual, check engine light came on and they never told me why, they just say sir we reset the cmputer simple error its fine now, sure enough a few weeks later shows up again . . .etc etc little things add up! so im done. its just that i never had good experiences with them. . .niether did any of my friends. but if their doing ok with you, then im glad for you. but im done with all that.

anyway how do you like the tip gear? did u try the manual or was that your first choice?

Iam sorry to hear that bro, and ya I tryed the manual on the 996 and for this car I belive the tip is the best choice.

This is very sad. If I were in your position I would not buy another P-car until a new dealer comes in. Porsche cars are nice but really no car is that nice if you get crappy service. Look at it this way. There are many fine sport cars out there and maybe you will find one you like better. If in 2-3 years you want another Porsche haopefully there will be a new dealer for Porsche and all will be good. Anytime I get bad service I make a point to take my business elsewhere. Porsche really should not allow this.
