Many years ago my dealer in Heilbronn Germany messed up my car. It needed an entire repaint. In those days it cost DM5,000. Of course, my dealer tried to claim they weren't reponsible, so my insurance company picked up the tab. That 5000 was for Zuffenhausen to repaint the car. While they did a decent job with the paint, it had very fine overspray all over the car. I suspect they are best at doing the original job (except in your case with what I'm guessing is the clear coat) but they're not so great at touch ups. Many shops are even better than the factory,--so never believe it can't be fixed. It certainly can.
