    Porsche then and now

    I was out and about this morning and spied this Porsche coupe parked. I drove home to get my camera. Luckily it was still there. Here are a few pics, I took about 50, all angles. The owner came back to his car after playing tennis and we had a great time looking over both vehicles. I have more pics if you'd like to see them.

    Nice pics thanks I love the double grills on the back. Some 993's had them I hope they make a comeback.

    WE LOVE SEEING PORSCHE EVOLUTION ....

    In the signature color too.
    Great pics, that old Beetle is soo cute. I hope we dont head into the space ship look too much on our modern day Pcars.
    That Beetle looks like special vintage Porsche days..

    Double grills are nice. The 993 you speak of is the Carrera S.

    Welcome guys, one more of the dual grills. If you just want the coupe, my P-car can be cropped out of the pic pretty easily in this one.

    Very nice pics. Couldn't help to notice the difference in size, amazing how much cars has grown in size over the years. On the last picture your 997 looks like a SUV compared to a sportscar..

    Slightly OT, with my apologies .........
    When I saw the older Porsche today I was on my way to the welder.
    There was a new large white Audi parked outside the welder's building.
    He's from South Africa.
    His assistant saw my Porsche outside next to the Audi and told his boss to come see it.
    I said the Audi was real nice and asked if it was his.
    "It's my wife's Audi", he said, "I drive a Ferrari".

    The first Porsche I ever saw was a red 356C, and I saw it on a cold October evening of 1965. As your pictures clearly showed, the shape has evolved, but each one will stand the test of time, even 50 years or more. IMHO, there is something inherently appealing about the Porsche shape.

    fritz, my father's nickname by the way, I think the welder made his money in South Africa. As for my avatar, I am Budweiser, cogito, and now I am Dasein. Sorry for the confusion. I'm in the witness protection program and also have several "X"'s looking for me so I have to keep switching names, a real pain.
