    My first car!

Hey guys just wanted to share my first car with you all.
Its not a sports car but its fast enough for the roads here in British Columbia. Car stills pulls, hehehe not like a used Porsche 944 i was going to buy. BUT altogether im happy with it because its very cheap but still fun to drive.
Its a 2005 ford focus ZX4 manual transmission, which is the best part about it.

Congrats on you new car. Be carefull and follow these 3 simple rules, and you will enjoy years of excellent motoring.

    1) NO WINGS
    2) NO RIMS
    3) NO STICKERS
    4) NO POUNDING STEREO's

Not following these rules closely may result in severe ridicule or worst case, being outcast from the forum.

    Re: My first car!

Enjoy it in good health and don't do anything stupid with it. Have fun but not reckless.

hahaha, good one. I might be young but im not going to have trouble following these set of rules and thats NOT only because i would be an outcast from you guys, but because I used this car only to get me from A to B. I enjoy driving it and its always great to go on roadtrips.
You forgot to mention a FULLBODY KIT

    Re: My first car!

Is this really that bad though??

    Re: My first car!

If this car is to get you only from point A to B, then you should be thinking "clean."

No need for aerodynamic work - you dont even have a tachometer.

Engine: Go buy yourself a tornado and a C.A.R.B approved intake to free up a few horses as well as maintain good M.p.g.

Wheels/Tires: I would say that a set from one of the higher models would fit well. Upgrade your brake pads.

Medium U.V. tint all the way around, Try the front windshield if you can get them to do it.

Eibach springs if you want a more aggresive ride without the need for new stilts.

    De-emblem the trunk.

    Tighten up that E-brake cord.

and .. yea .. thats about it. Pretty much everything i have done to my daily driver, and everything blends great. Remember, less is more, and with a non-performance bred vehicle - its the only way to go.

    tv.

    Re: My first car!

Here's my first car, and my actual car actually

    on the Nürburgring

    And just playing around

IMO, there's no better first car than this one.
It ticks all the boxes, it's cheap, it's big fun, it's involving, it's in some way beautiful, ...

    I love it!

    Re: My first car!

Ah...I remember my first car well. It was a 1980 Datsun 280ZX. The owner was very much into auto-x. It had competition suspension, and a fully prepped motor with cams, ported heads, headers, and dual 2" off road pipes, and SS brake lines, hawk pads, aluminum flywheel, BBS rims, and wide 225 gatorback tires. It was a GEM!

It was light, handled like a dream and had around 235+hp, which at that time was amazing for a 2.8 litre (or any car). It was a real sleeper...the best part was that it cost $3000.

But all those cars had a real bad issue with rust, especially where the suspension mounted to the uni-body, and after 3 years it was unsafe to drive..

    Re: My first car!

    Congrats!

LOL , I was immediately thinking 'wheels' when I saw the pictures. I think you need to put some 17" wheels on that car. They can be had fairly cheap, decent quality and will change the car in the looks dep. but more important , the ride will be so much sportier and still be plenty comfortable. That and lowering is the only thing I did to my cars when I was a young guy like you.
And NOBODY ever ridiculed me or my cars. In fact the contrary was the case. Nice wheels MAKE the car. And this goes double if you have a 'normal' car.

I've driven a rental, automatic Focus, not sure if it was a ZX4 or not, and loved the steering weight and handling setup. I remember the brake pads had a low friction coefficient and a low maximum operating temperature so I was not able to dive into the corners. With better pads and fluid, I would have had more fun. Congratulations, Atzporsche!

    Re: My first car!

Here, Here!!!! The most important thing was Don't DO ANYTHING STUPID.

Take time to develop your skills, when you are ready you will know it (you will stop getting tickets for stupid [censored]).

    Re: My first car!

I try to be safe and all but when there are places like the one in the picture below its really hard. Its a huge paved parking space up on Cypress Mountain. And its perfect to test your cars limits and such. I made a video which i will post once i figured out how to host a video somewhere. You guys will like it.

    Re: My first car!

Porker- My friend brought a BMW e30 and is currently fixing it up. It is indeed a magnificent car in all aspects. From looks to price to sound to performance!
