really? Just look at the numbers
the CGT is around 3.4-3.6 to 60
the Z06 is around 3.8-4.0 to 60
Obviously the CGT is going to be faster...but not by a whole lot.

Yes, you're correct harryo2b, they are GT3 seats.
Carivaggio Corvettes sells them out of Canada, $1295 each. I saw them last year at Carlisle.

@juankimalo - Both are pretty close to 120 mph. But after that things change. The Z06 has a faster 0 to 150 mph time and a higher top speed than a 997TT, But a CGT really is a rocket after 150 mph.
There were some times posted here from AMS and AutoBild that show that.

Based on a very small sample (1) of my own CGT vs. C6Z06 track encounters, the 60-150 MPH acceleration of the CGT beats the Z06 big time down the back straight at Mid-Ohio.
Exit speed from the "keyhole" corner leading onto the straight is an issue, but the Z06 seemed like "it was tied to a stump" when I went by him about 1/3 of the way down the back straight.

As for the Z06 and a CGT... Why are all of these CGT and Z06 pics always showing the CGT behind the vette?
I cant see the tow rope in that pic, was it photoshopped out?

Well, in the tests I have read (around 4-6), the Corvette Z06 was slower than the 997TT. Z06 performance seems to depend a lot on the test car
Also, I doubt that the Carrera GT is that much quicker above 150kph. Both, RC (997TT Tip) and my test (997TT manual) confirm that the 997TT does 0-300kph in slightly below 40 seconds. Based on a former AMS test, the Carrera GT does 0-300 in around 36 seconds. Thus, the advantage over the 997TT cannot be huge.
What will happen if you add x50 to the 997TT... Or even in the case of the GT2

34 seconds, according to Sport Auto. However, the Enzo did it in 26 seconds and, as tested by an italian magazine (which it was, I cannot remember), the CGT was tied with the Enzo at 270 km/h, at which point they stopped measuring. So, unless the car hits a barrier somewhere between 270 and 300 km/h, I have my doubts about that result.

CGT kinda hits a wall...poor Cd for top top speed runs, because Porsche really wasn't worried about its autobahn friendliness, moreso its trackability (name a track where you hit over 270kmph? The straight at Road Atlanta maybe?
Nevertheless, these tests are a bunch of pishposh. I'll take a modded supra over any of these in a straightline barrage...

The CGT has good high-speed stability, which seems to be more important than topspeed-focussed aerodynamics. You are right on that one.
Additionally I believe to remember that 5th gear in the CGT ends at something below 300 kph, at which point the Enzo seem to pull away.

That's weird. The CGT has a shorter 6th gear than the Enzo. Only 334 km/h or so. I don't know much aerodynamics, but still, how can a car that is neck-and-neck with the Enzo at 270 km/h fall behind by eight (8!) seconds by 300 km/h? I would think that its aerodynamics would become a hindrance long before 270 km/h.

HUH ... my SPEED YELLOW is the fastest yellow ever ... have a look .. 996 turbo S .. by the way , my brother have a carrera GT ... i know how fast it is .. this VIDEO is bull sh.. , with only chipped 996 turbo i can beat the Z06 ... there is no comparison between Z06 and CGT ... i dont belive that video , or maybe this CGT runs with 5 cylinders
