Soon you can buy a Shelby Mustang identical to the one that Dr. Phil drove on vacation in California and Nevada. Will easily catch and pass BMW test cars and it also has room for dozens of cases of wine coolers to bait NFL cheerleaders with.

Ford says it will sell a non-rental version of the Shelby GT-H Mustang. Automotive News reports that Ford execs have told dealers that the Shelby GT, as it will be called, will be nearly identical to the GT-H version that can be rented at Hertz outlets. The GT will be a 2007 model year vehicle and will be available in black or white with silver stripes and scoops like those on the GT-H.

Lighter than the Shelby GT500 by almost 400lbs, it has a alloy 4.3 liter DOHC 325hp V8 with choices of manual or automatic transmissions. Standard equipment includes tuned X pipes and a lowered (32MM)Shelby performance suspension. Options include a stitched leather dashboard and uprated leather for seats, doors and armrests.

The other Shelby Mustang, the GT500, features the 5.3 liter cast iron 500hp supercharged 5.3 liter V8 from the Ford GT mid engine coupe.
