Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

    Hey guys.

I've been gone a while. I've fully modded my 2006 997S, and joined another forum in the meantime as well, so you may have seen it on there. Anyways, I wanted to post here my finals. I went to the other post to talk with others about the mods that have done them, which I could find none on here. I had some kind people on here that I thought might like to see the end product.

Here's what all I've done, first of all.
    Evolution Motorsports Supercharger
    FabSpeed Exhaust and tips
    FabSpeed Headers
GIAC Chip tuning (comes with sc kit)
    H&R Lowering Springs
20" Avus AF-MO2 forged 3 piece wheels in Basalt Black
Cargraphic GT-2 Wing with Carbon uprights
    Cargraphic Cup style front bumper
    Cargraphic Carbon chin spoiler
The Rinspeed Side Skirts and rear bumper haven't been installed yet. They are late getting here.
Short shifter is in, but I haven't put it in. Waiting on carbon console and shifter to do it all at once.
Oh, I also got carbon mirrors from Evo, and they are MY FAVORITE thing about the car. And I got the clear corners, which make it look soooo nice.

The car had some initial idle issues, but the computer and Evo have/are taking care of that. It runs incredibly strong. Not like what you'd think 500HP feels like though, since the torque is around the 380 mark. But what's shocking is how fast the tach needle moves. It's crazy. And I can literally be rolling at idle in fourth gear to a red light, it turn green before I hit the brake, and roll on the throttle without any issues whatsoever. It's amazing. The car is supposed to have all of its power at redline now, but I notice it so much more at the 4k mark. Don't get me wrong... I rev the pee out of it. But it is just so fun to feel the push of the boost at 4k on to redline. No performance tests run yet, but I promise you that the car is a whole new animal.

SC Shot. That's it for now. If there's anything specific that any of you would like to know or see, just ask. I'll do all I can!

    Thanks guys.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Wow killer. What part of NC are you from? We need to do a NC drive either to the mountains or the coast.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

That would be GREAT! I live in Wilmington, but spend much much much of my time in the mountains around Asheville. You know where Cashiers/Highlands is? I'm there a whole bunch, and I just moved from Lake Lure near Asheville. Right now I'm in Johnson City, TN and will soon be driving back to Wilmington (in about a week). I just took the long route yesterday through Boone and Mountain City. It was amazing. I'd love to hook up with you. Where are you?

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Post a video on youtube for us!

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

No idea, but can prob work it out. I'm out of town for the week, so it'll take a while! Thanks for the interest though.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

When are possible post the porformance's dates of the 997"s"?
    0-100kph ?
    0-200kph ?
    TOP SPEED ?

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

I don't know how to find the equipment to actually test the acceleration times. It's much faster, but I'd want numbers too. Sorry on that. I should be able to get a novice (me) driver to take it back to the quarter mlle here soon. Also, I'm trying to get back into the dyno, but they tell me they don't have the time available. As far as top speed, I won't be able to get that kind of thing. I'm assuming over 200mph. I had it to 151 before the mods and it had so much left. Supposed to do well over 180 stock. We'll see 200 might be too much... but definitely over 190.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

    Those rims look nice..

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

What a killer 997! Nice colour and body/wheels to match too.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Congrats! Please post a pic of the engine bay!

I in Charlotte so Asheville is only a couple hours drive. I'm sure we could get a few P drivers to make the run.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

looks fantastic - more pics of the carbon fibre mirrors please...

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Great!! I like it when people try new things!!!!

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Thanks for all the compliments. It really is a kick ass car. I ran it hard around town last night and am constantly amazed at how quickly the tach needle sweeps through in first, second, and third.

Bstew, Hendrick Porsche did all my mods. Small world! I come through there all the time. We'll have to hook up for sure! Quentin, Todd, Kary, Ryan, and Scott are my buddies there. Wonderful set of fellers...

Charliepug... Thanks. You're right... the wheels were actually painted Basalt Black Metallic. It's a pretty good match too, but you can't tell unless you REALLY try to. I could have just went with Black, but... naaaaah.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

    This is for Mike S...

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

    And this is for 360bhp...

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

And I just think this should accomodate that last pic... By the way, the little vent on the bumper next to the hood came a little torqued, as you can see here. Cargraphic is sending me another that hopefully will fit flush.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Outstanding. Look forward to hearing your thoughts after youve had more time to drive it.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Very neat work thanks for the picture blakt out!

i REALLY like those mirrors too, you do know how to mod your car tastefully

I would say that it will go 183 mph. You never stated that you did any gear ratio changes so you're still gear limited no matter how quickly you can get it to 6th gear redline. Are you going to change the gear ratios or the final drive ratio to get a different top speed out of it? It seems like a lot of mods just to still do the Porsche number of 183. Looks like a clean install.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

you did some job on your car! damn! now the question which we all think about, how much are all these mods gonna end up costing you? and is it the thought of you doing your own custome-made mods. that attracted you to doing it, versus buying a 997 GT3 or a 997 TT? cause I think you're at about the same price... I think...

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

Love the rear, look great, congrats!

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

I'm in for about $150k now. But this includes the wheels and tires, which I would put on the other two cars anyway. I had the 'should have just bought a whatever' discussion on here when I first started. It's just what I wanted to do. It's how I would want a car. Tons of power. Unique and special. Rear Wheel Drive. And has rear seats and all that. I actually use them all the time on road trips with my cocker spaniel and boston terrier. I like it. Anyways, I like the rear too... from the rear. But it looks too high from the side. That's why I'm going with the RinSpeed rear and skirts.

One thing about it is that I have no badges. I like that. Well, I have the front badge, but it will likely go as well. Then I'll replace the door sills and it won't have Carrera S or anything on it. I like that.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

This is what good taste can do in the aftermarket,--vice BAD taste, and we have at least one of those hovering around here! All in all, a nice discrete look. (I had a narrow body turbo many years ago sans badges ("...we don't got to show you no sticking badges..."), so the wolf in sheep's clothing it was.

Re: Final Shots and Reports on my Full Mod 997S

WOW, congrats that is one beautiful Pcar

That's a big compliment. I really appreciate it. I felt that I was walking a thin line here... especially with the wing. That's why I went black so that I could maybe fudge that line a bit more. You know? I appreciate your, and all the other folks' props. I take it to heart.
