    thanks fritz,

you make a good point, but tracks -- even Nring are smoooth relative to the bumpy roads in Malibu. i am comparing daily, the behaviour of the gt3 to the gt2 on the same roads as i drive to work. i drove 2 gt2's 15,000 miles, and this gt3 4000 right after [now].

    Hume Road, Malibu

the 02 gt2 pitches so badly, one must slow way down in a gt2, for the same section i can scream thru when driving a gt3. this is a handling problem most do not experience: e.g.: 2 gear 45 mph in a gt3 vs 30 mph in a gt2... same twisty high on and off camber corner/bump set.... but i have it every day..... thanks

    Correction Issued

At the suggestion of Edvard Greig, I have now run my 03 GT2 though these same sequences of corners many times at the same speeds as with the GT3, the car being lower it scrapes the ground more.

I completely retract my comment on GT3 handling better vs GT2 other than the obvious effects of less weight and NA.

I trained on the track and took instruction which improved my skills a little bit during the GT3's months with me, and this probably explains my previous take.

Thank God for Edvard, what a tuner!

    Good old Edvard Greig!

I knew I could count on him to redeem my reputation. Just a shame his music is not as good as his GT2/GT3 chassis tuning know-how.

If your GT2 touches bottom too much, I guess you already know that you can raise it a few mm's without too much hassle? The GT3 and GT2's ride height tolerance bands overlap, so there's no need to let it get to be a problem.

    Re: GT2 with PCM?

    Fritz,

Just back from drinking schnapps and beer with Edvard, and we're almost ready to try my friend's Fikse 13's for a couple weeks, which are about 30# a set lighter than factory. If that produces the improvement Edvard expects in the bumps, we've got a great price on the Cargraphic 18" forged stars racing wheel which are 17 and 19# F and R, or another 14# lighter than the Fikses.....

these are Jack's Hre's but very similar... Edvard prefers the mesh.

    Re: GT2 with PCM?

    Watt,
Good luck with your 04 GT 2 hunt. Alfie and I have been discussing his GT 3. During the discussion he mentioned all the preliminary interest on his 04 GT 2 seems to be Watt like guys trying to buy it for 165. He seemed to feel that they would hang themseleves before giving you the satisfaction of stealing their GT2.

    Fritz,
Yes a few people are from Vegas. You see Vegas residents understand that no one actually has a gambling problem. Gambling is only a problem if you lose. So if you win, you get nicknames like "lucky" and realize there really is no such thing as a problem gambler. Only problem losers. If you lose you get nicknames like Pete Rose. So you see Fritz gambling is not a problem it's losing that causes the problems.

Raymond Radiguet wrote Le Bal de Compote d' orgel.

two other books to read. Adrian Streather's 964 enthusiast companion and Gary Habermas on the Historical Jesus where he examines evidence for Jesus outside the Bible and details 39 ancient sources from outside the Bible with over 100 reported facts about Christ's life and teachings all from outside the Bible.

P.S. It also helps to be on Christ's good side when Gambling as well.( Just kidding)/

    Dear Les "Winner Man" Quam,

there are now 7 04 GT2's at US dealerships or en route rotting and getting a bit high, waiting for the customer who never comes. We can joke about my propensity to pay low, alright be cheap, but the market is coming my way!

    Kindest Regards,

Watt "the Lord helps them that buy right"

PS Now you know the title, open to the first page.

    Re: GT2 with PCM?

    Dear "Lucky Les",

Well my only memory of Las Vegas was dropping 10 bucks in a slot when travelling through there as a tourist one afternoon many moons ago.

One day I'm coming back there to get my loot back. It's not the principle of the thing, its the money. I'd ask you to line up those one armed bandits in an identity parade for me. I'll still know the one who robbed me! He'll be the one with the bite marks which match my dentures.

I'm not going to get involved in a discussion on literature or music with you! Your taste is much to esoteric for me. Whatever that means!

I'm guessing your PS was a Freudian slip. I reckon you meant to say that it helps to stay on the good side of Jesus, the Mexican croupier.

    fritz

PS: What's this got to do with cars? Is this what they refer to as OT? Or maybe OTT, as in "over the top"?

    Re: GT2 with PCM?

    Watt's up, What!

I know Jaguar used to put a wild cat on the hood of its cars as a mascot, but what the heck is that you've got on the front trunk lid of your GT2?

Do you cover it up to sedate it when you're parked?

And shouldn't it be facing forwards instead of to the right. It looks like its ready to pounce at people on the sidewalk as you drive by.

Yeah, but the truth is that Madame de Beaumont was a notorious bore who wouldn't have known good literature if it bit her on the nose.

Much better, for our topic, is Russell Bank's "Rule of the Bone." Now there's a guy who knows his cars.

    Re: GT2 with Fikses update

Just ran the mountains a few days with Jack's Fikses on. 34 # less unsprung weight vs factory wheels. Wow!! feels like a GT3 with 462 HP and 452 ft.lbs!!!!!!!! what a difference, taking those clodhopper wheels off.

accelerated faster, turns in quicker, feels more stable in the bumps at higher speeds thru corners, pitches less in low speed bump corners. any handling superiority i felt in the GT3 is equalised. what a wonderful change!!!!

Thanks Jack, what a friend. i should have done this 2 GT2's ago, it brings the car alive. I presume one could actually tune the setup to optimise with the light wheels......

it makes me quite irritated with the factory for suboptimising the car just to save money on a 190,000 car.

i am working the car thru the bumps of Hume and other roads near my house and the improvement is substantial.

the key issue is will they stay round on these bumpy surfaces??? we'll check them for dents in another week.
