    That is very interesting looking. I am not a fan of two tone but that looks nice. One question: What is the shiny interior trim? It's almost like the Piano black interior look of Audis. Is it an option?

    Yeah, we want to know. I have been wondering about a way to lessen the look of the numerous buttons. Dark trim looks like a good idea.

    Looks like the exterior color paint option. As a side note, the MY07 Configurator now shows the portion of the upper dash (below the windshield) in terra cotta color. No longer black...

    Same for the other colors (sand beige and stone grey)...

    The Configurator has always been wrong about that particular point. I, too, wondered what color the vents were if one ordered the extended leather/wood/CF package until I saw a picture on eBay.
    The way it actually is makes much more sense.

    Yes. These are exclusiv order options. Your salesman can help you. Everything is painted: center console, console, "Defrosterblende", i don't know the english word.

    I am amazed how little the US customers know about the exclusive program and its possibilities. Then again it is no wonder as the exclusive program is not available on the US car configurator. My advice is to go the German website and try all the exclusive options there. You do not need to understand the language. Just push the options and look at the picture of the dash change to whatever you have selected. Keep what you like and when you finish, safe and the end page gives you all the codes. Use these codes at your dealer to order them.
    Codes for Piano black lacquer are the following :
    CMG : vents piano black with leather vent blades
    CMF : complete PCM piano black
    CMM : decoration strip dash piano black
    CMJ : decoration strip gearchange piano black

    The exclusive program also gives you the possibility to have PCM , Vents , decoration strips, etc, painted in the exterior color instead of piano black. Just like the car of KF in Basalt.
    You can test all possibilities on www.porshe.de, however you can only preview your choices on the 'exterior color' options , not on the 'black' options. No problem if you select A1 black as your ext. color (just to test)

    I have terracotta interior in my 997,and really like it.Makes a big change for me-my last 10 or so cars have had black or grey interiors and I wanted a change

    I've been following this thread closely. I was all set to order a C2S Coupe...until I saw the recent spy pics!

    Looking at Basalt Black-Black/Terracotta. Was going to go with Exterior color options (PCM, trim strip, switch panel, B-pillar belt trim) but just found out piano black is also available. US site has no interactive Exclusive options.

    Anyone know which type of wood is used for the piano black base??

    Please note that I call it 'piano' black because it has the same shine and look. However , the parts are the same , just painted in high gloss black which is just like the 'piano' look.

    so is there any difference between "piano black" finish and "black (non-metallic) exterior color" finish?

    is the gloss the same?

    Yes , should be the same. The 'piano' black is an option possibility for customers not ordering the A1 ext. color but still want the incredibly cool looking blacked out int. And remeber , I only used the name 'piano black' to try to discribe the int. as best as possible and give a feel for the result.

    There is a picture of a blacked out int. in the 'exclusive' catalogue. Maybe you should get one from your dealer.
    It gives a very good idea of the piano black on a yellow car.

    I like my regular ole' all-terracotta with silver accent. It's less busy. And all that gloss paint on the center stack would cause me to have a mental meltdown fighting fingerprints and smears.

    I'm not big into 2-tone interiors unless the transitions are subtle and soft and related.

    Of course, opinions are like ***holes...

    it's not my car. i prefer cocoa or leather black. I still love white car paint.
