    Another useless "Super Car" comparison test.

    6 Supercars Compared

    American "supercars" are just brutally fast.
    European "supercars" are brutally fast and elegeant.

    Wow the Gallardo did good there. Why was the turbo so behind? or more so then I would think judging what people tend to say about it.

    Jim, as someone posted on another thread, the Gallardo and 430 has Pirelli Corsa tires which some speculate drastically helped their lap times. I'm crying foul.

    "Some speculate." That's a good way to put it. These are the Corsa System tires that came OE on the Stradale, not the full-on R-compound Corsas that are similar to the Pilot Sport Cup. I'd love to see a comparison between these and other street tires, and it's my guess they are pretty similar to any ultra-high performance product like the PS2. Check out the data panel for the F430 figures on skid pad and slalom, and you'll see they are very similar to the other cars in the test, virtually identical with the Viper numbers.

    Well, I admit that after a lifetime of Porsche ownership, I am enjoying the Ferrari experience! But these are facts. And am I the first on this board to let my preference show through?

    All of these cars are fantastic, lets not lose sight of that.

    They evoke a lot of passion and provide different kinds of driiving experiences. All offer special fun in their own ways.

    All staggeringly fast compared to 99.99% of the other cars and all have performance from another world.

    I dont think that any owner of a TT, F430 or Gallardo would turn down a try of one of the others for a day. And that says it all.

    And when C&D did a similiar test, they got completely different results.

    Papenburg, Germany (1.6 mile road course)

    Z06 (1.15.85)
    911TT (1.17.55)
    F430 (1.18.20)

    Just shows you how different tracks, drivers, conditions, and tires make all the difference. Bottom line, they all kick @ss.
